But Paolo Zanetti, the head of dairy industry group Assolatte, praised the government's decision.

He told Il Sole 24 Ore financial newspaper that milk producers were facing a paradox. On the one hand his colleagues were being asked to invest in making their product more environmentally friendly, while on the other "investors with no scruples" were promoting a product that was anything but natural "under the pretext of protecting the environment".

As much as my French heritage embraces the most wonderful dishes, I have to say that Italian food, bar none, is the best.

Sorry, Mom.

As much as I respect human innovation, deplore government interference and generally trust “the free market” - I have to agree with Italians on this.

The great irony of the woke open-borders globalists is that they are quickly destroying any local culture, local thought, and local diversity. The world is quickly being turned into a globalist/corporate/tech Walmart parking lot.

Kudos to common sense thinking in Italy.

Italian cuisine is a treasure.

No matter where you go to eat in Italy, be it a simple trattoria or world class restaurant...it's like going to the health food store.

Italy since time began explicitly bans additives, chemicals, preservatives, etc.from their food supply.

And that's just for starters....

Italians are fanatics about their food.....

If culatello, prosciutto, and bistecca alla Fiorentina aren't worth fighting for, then nothing is.

The muffuletta -- the greatest sandwich yet designed -- might have been created in N'awlins, but the meats in it are all Italian.
