Because of the rare earth materials needed for EV batteries, nearly every EV built in the world makes a financial benefit to the CCP of China (China accounts for 70% of global EV battery production, so every push for more EV battery production adds to EV battery demand, and that either directly or indirectly benefits China.)

If the western nations ended all of their EV subsidies and mandates, China would take a big economic hit.

obviously losing 9k per EV means that Ford has to make up the difference by selling volume...

i hope they wake up from the woke soon.

.
To your point, Obama rolled out Smart Meters, Granny had to pay $240 to have an Electric Smart Meter installed precisely so they can cut off power to you and entire areas with little to no cost to the Electric Companies.

Yup! That’s what I’m sayin’ home boy! :)

They just be tightening the noose.

On my front, the best deal in Montana property I can get is out in the mountains with no grid service....which is looking pretty good to me and our future off-grid system.

Odd that the power company would charge for the upgrade. Around here the power company announced a deadline for homeowners to make an appointment to get the new meter. If a homeowner didn’t make the deadline or refused to accept the new meter, the power folks just added $75 each month to the bill to cover manual monthly reading. This surcharge continued until you acquiesced and converted.

Innovation?

The Tesla pickup is the standard now for pickups, especially electric trucks.

Ford may not even be around when the plant starts producing.
