The conscripts and contract soldiers in Russia are not paid promised salaries, allowances and social benefits.
According to the calculations of the news outlet, since the beginning of March 2023, the salaries of the servicemen have been delayed or not paid at all in 52 regions of Russia and in occupied Crimea.
...According to Dmytro Loboyko, the Head of the Regional Studies Centre, people from the Russian hinterland associated "the hope of qualitatively changing their lives, but they had to face reality" with payment for participation in hostilities.

Just wait, you'll be paid in Russia's new currency the Renminbi and on top of that they will feed you Chicken Almond Gai Ding!

Soldiers are complaining.
I’m a fan of our military, but my understanding is this is a bit like saying water is wet.

IIRC I read my enlistment contract in the USAF
and Pay was optional. All that was promised was 3 hots, a cot, and medical.
The Russian were promised far more than we were.
Luckily, USA soldiers, sailors and airmen are taken much better care of( mostly, it is still crap).
I can’t imagine why a Russian soldier would take that BS.
Thankfully they don’t have a Non-Com core. They might actually be very effective if they did.
The a$$hole Commissioned officers would be gone.
Romans, Greeks, Germans, and Americans know who wins wars.
It isn’t officers, they just manage supplies, and plan .

Unfortunately, all the McDonald’s are gone from Russia, I always like the “Big Mac Index”. An easy way to compare the purchasing power of the local currency.
Most are estimating that Russian inflation is currently over 11% and rising.
And after the uniform deduction and the extremely high SGLI not all that much is left for the surviving Russians.
Apparently the Russians have renamed MacDonalds as
“Vkusno-i tochka”
Maybe you can still get a Big Makov.

gotta pay for those T55 upgrades somehow...

An interesting supposition!
Thank you.
I have wondered why the Russians do not have an NCO cadre.
And the Chinese are working hard to develop one.
Stalin and his bolsheviks were always on the watch for any opposing political group obtaining a critical mass.
See #19 about disabled vets.

Yes, I have read about the replacement Mickey’ds and the reviews were negative.
But their cost structure/ product would not be reliably comparable for use in an index.
“The Big Mac index, published by The Economist, is a novel way of measuring whether the market exchange rates for different countries’ currencies are overvalued or undervalued. It does this by measuring each currency against a common standard – the Big Mac hamburger sold by McDonald’s restaurants all over the world.”

As I’m a NCO, former active duty.
The hardest thing for most people
to do is delegate to others, what
you are responsible for.
Chinese will never develop one,
that is freedom. Freedom is antithetical
to Han Chinese culture.
That is what is is all about, freedom
to act on your own within the bounds
of the mission.
"Pravda" is a Russian word meaning "the truth" or "the news". But, if they hate all things Russian, why would they pick that name?
Doesn't matter you fell for the story.
We don’t have to worry about the Ukes. Thanks to those supporting the big guy’s quagmire, YOU and I pay the Ukes, including their f’n pensions. Uncle Sam pays his stooges very well.
And this is from.... Ukraine Pravda?
Gotcha...
Ping to the NCO discussion in this thread, Dan.
I agree with most of the comments, but who am I?
Would love your take.
Not if the missing payment leaves the family in want. It’s spring time in most places in the US, but in a lot of places in Russia, it’s deadly cold right now. Imagine having your heat shut off and no food in a Siberian winter. They are not conscripting from Moscow and Petrograd, but from the rural ethnics. Imagine marching to the slaughter for a government that is starving your wife and kids and letting them freeze, a government that doesn’t speak your native language and treats you badly even in peacetime.
But not being paid is not a complaint one sees.
How many families and soldiers can just cease to get paychecks?
