Yes, a lot of liberals support Ukraine and so do most other persons. The only logical reason I can find is because Democrats are helping Ukraine we have to be for Russia. I guess you would of been pro Hitler since FDR was a Democrat. You would of been pro North Korea because Truman was a Democrat. Surely you would of been pro Castro and the Viet Cong since JFK and LBJ were Democrats.
Republicans supported fighting this countries enemies as well regardless of who was President. And that is what Russia is an enemy. And this is our chance to see a cathartic defeat and maybe even see them fall apart and no longer be a threat to everyone. Only rotten regimes in this world support Russia. I recall when I was growing up that I was fed an unending bushel of Pro-America Propaganda about how evil Russia was. Heck I was 15 before I knew that it didn’t always snow in Moscow. They had comic books they gave out of how children were taken from families, brainwashed Communism, Godless monsters who hated America because she was free. We were taught to hate all things Russia. Only Good thing they ever made was vodka. Reading the responses here the propaganda did its job. The very word “Russia” causes a knee-jerk reaction still today. Link a person with that godless evil is to turn that person into a traitor that’s why they used it against Trump so effectively. A good % of Democrats now still think Trump is a Putin Asset. The propaganda that gave us “In God we Trust” motto is now used to steer us into a grim and terrible world war. USSR is gone folks and more and more we are looking like the boogie man of the 1950s.

We supported corrupt nations in opposing the Nazis and Communists. We got help from the wretched French monarchy in the revolution. The bottom line is that Russia is a severe threat and a renegade super power is something that we have a serious interest in opposing. The revolution that ousted the pro Russian corrupt regime was an internal revolution that we may of very well helped. But it had popular support of the Ukrainian people. Zelensky ran as a reformer and I know of no information that he is corrupt except that we which comes from Russian propaganda that is disseminated on this board.
The issue that Russia is a serious threat to us is a joke that’s being aptly shown every day in Ukraine. Only her nukes are dangerous to us and we take a chance of it escalating by our involvement in this conflict.
At best it’s a regional threat so let the Europeans deal with this situation. After all,they didn’t see Russia as a threat when they didn’t build up their armies and signed up for Ivan’s cheap gas!

Because I’ve heard this song and dance at least three times, now four that this nation has go fight another because it’s an eternal threat. Vietnam, Gulf War I and II and now Ukraine which wasn’t even a concern 10 years ago but now we must spent blood and treasure for a nation hardly any American could point on a map.
The Europeans didn’t think it was a threat and laughed when Trump made his speech at the UN because they wanted cheap natural gas and budgeted no money for their own defense.

Ah, the infamous “Domino theory”
We lost in Vietnam and yet communism, aside from Cambodia, didn’t over take the South Pacific.
After the Soviet Union fell apart, US made promises that it wouldn’t advance NATO to Russia’s border in exchange for allowing an uncontested unification of Germany.
What happened? Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic became NATO members with the Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia in 2004.
It’s the Domino theroy in reverse and any Russian leader wouldn’t be happy with this situation, replacing Putin probably wouldn’t bulge the pointer in either direction.
And just how does it ended “once and for all”? Ukraine is bleeding white(so are the Russians) This has devolved into the static trench warfare of WWI. A few tanks on either probably won’t have the desired breakout the Ukes nor Rooskies envision. Both are low on artillery rounds and the ability to quickly ramp up production before the rumoured spring offensive.
As I posted last year before I became more knowledgeable about the antagonists, it will boil down who wants the territory the most and willing to expend blood and treasure to secure it. For how long is another question.
The domino theory wasn't disproven it is because we stopped it by defending these countries who would of fallen under Russian orbits I do not want to go back to another cold war or worse. I want to prevent that and aiding Ukraine is the best way of doing that. Let us again prevent another domino theory from happening.
