Idiocracy was prophesy disguised as comedy.

This is the 2nd-3rd post grammar experts have “schooled” me for that word.
For everyone’s info it IS a word and was commonly used about 100 years ago.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary

“Irregardless was popularized in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its increasingly widespread spoken use called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that “there is no such word.” There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.”

Yes but IQs are falling in all races and it’s the same cause.

Ask any teenager ‘how dumb’ their parents are. Then ask them again when that teen is in his/her 30’s. ;)

My parent’s became very smart shortly after I was graduated from high school and left home to work and to go to college.

Interesting... back when I was writing papers in APA format we were told specifically to never use irregardless as it was a double negative.

Here’s something I found,

The ir- prefix means “not,” and if you add it to a word that already means “without regard,” you get “not without regard.” This double negative is what makes irregardless a mess of a word, and an insult to the army of people who are passionate about English vocabulary.

I’m not passionate about English vocabulary as I often times write in vernacular not unlike Twain or Hurston just because I like the idioms from various regions but informal writing didn’t cut it in research papers.

No offense I just thought it was kind of humorous that you used irregardless in a thread concerning the population getting less intelligent. Something perhaps resembling a grammatical double entendre, if there could ever be such a thing!

Cheers

That’s what I thought was hilarious, too. Right at the start of the post, no less.

Half of everyone on earth has a below average IQ.

But in Lake Wobegon, all of the children are above average.

President Johnson. He started most of these cradle to grave entitlement programs.

Do you remember what he said he was doing and what the result would be?

I was a child , very small so no memory at all. I have read something about how he wanted a just and comfortable America for all yada yada.

Problem is to pay for everyone’s problems one has to take away from others—-or borrow. Which is why we now largely have a tremendous national debt.

Also of course it has used the incentives of welfare to take pride and ownership away from black people and make a large segment of them dependent on government aide, devoid of fathers and beset with all the social problems we see today. It has made it easier for the less intelligent (all races) to reproduce and harder for the productive of society.

As I see it.

evolution started with simple organisms and then got more complex and intelligent along the way.

If intelligence were not inheritable we would still have the thinking power of a fungus

It's also because of people who voluntarily have undertaken low protein diets. The reason that it was only the H. Sapiens' branch of the tree of life that came down from the trees and learned to walk upright and to conjugate verbs is that they were the only hominids that engaged in hunting as a lifestyle. Which made them the only hominid that had a diet containing sufficient EXCESS protein to support superior brain development.

Any diet that doesn't contain EXCESS protein is de-evolutionary.

Were the ancient Greeks more intelligent than their barbarian neighbors because their verbs had so many forms? Of course we don't know how verbs in Illyrian, Thracian, or Pelasgian were conjugated.

Some chimpanzees have been taught sign language and have shown the ability to construct simple sentences, but I don't know if they ever grasped the idea of verb tenses (past/present/future). One of them was named Nim Chimpsky in honor of the linguist (and far-left nut) Noam Chomsky.

Lyndon Johnson was handing out a lot of money and supposedly he said “I’ll have those naggers voting Democratic for the next 200 years.

Of course fact checkers say there is no proof that he said that.

Amazing to me so many people think— 1. Humans are animals yet don’t follow the same laws of selective breeding/evolution 2. The brain is the only organ in the body that is immune from change.

According to a source a majority of dog breeds were unrecognizable 150 years ago. 150 years…that’s not really that long ago. Johnson started the great Society almost exactly 60 years ago, which has promoted reproduction of poor, less intelligent, more violent and weak. To pay for it the costs of feeding, hospital care , education and such have transferred to the productive members of society. This dis-incentivizes them to reproduce.

Now to be sure dogs have shorter fertility cycles with more generations in say 60 years, and other variables exist such as some very good people are covered by welfare. Yet all in all we are talking about a slight but noticeable drop (yet steady) in IQ…I certainly think it’s possible even likely this is in fact happening.

PS
Of course it’s not all caused by Johnson’s great society, I just used that as a glaring example.

The age of first menstruation has dropped steadily during that period of time you mentioned earlier.

Nature is doing what nature does, promote propagation.
