A New York inventor needs cash to develop his big idea, so his adoring wife decides to raise it by divorcing him and marrying an eccentric Florida millionaire, J. D. Hackensacker III.
Written and directed by Preston Sturges, featuring Claudette Colbert, Joel McCrea, Mary Astor, and Rudy Vallee as Hackensacker III. The Palm Beach Story is a high watermark of Sturges’ brand of physical comedy and verbal repartee.

Excellent cast.
In case you’re interested ping. A classic, all-star cast.
Captain McGlue?
Nitz Toto.
Nearly 80 years since movie was made!
There are some uncanny similarities between John D. Hackensacker and John D Rockefeller.
As a young boy Rockefeller’s father also taught him to itemize every single penny spent on every single item.
This was a common practice back in the Great Depression days. I had an uncle, who also wrote in a very small script his daily expenses and balances.
