In the Hollywood version of history - Braveheart - a piper is seen in silhouette playing the highland pipes. In fact, Eric Rigler was playing the uilleann pipes.
Eric was also involved in creating the score for Titanic and has a travelling show with an orchestra playing the music while the film is screened.
Whichever your choice - highland; lowland (also known as the Northumbrian pipes) or uilleann, enjoy Bagpipe Day.
