PALISADES, Idaho — A family escaped serious injury after a moose attacked them while snowboarding in eastern Idaho.

A family snowmobile ride came to a heart-sinking stop when a moose suddenly joined in. Jeremiah Bigelow says his son was behind him, unable to reverse, and his brother was in front of him with the moose trapped in the middle.
"The moose was trapped, we were trapped," said Bigelow. "[The moose] drops her head and just charges right at us. And I said, 'oh shoot.'"
The moose gave a false charge, but then turned its attention on his brother. As the moose moved forward, his bother had seconds to react.
"He gets up on his sled and tries to make himself look big, hoping that will be a false charge. And then the machine is running at this point and he sits down and hits the gas and the snow machine died," he said. "He looks back over his shoulder just for a second realizes right there to jump off. And as he jumps off he hits the snow machine right on."
Shocked, but alive, Bigelow's brother scrambled back to his sled. The moose eventually turned and walked off, leaving the Bigelow brothers stunned.
The moose was not hurt despite crashing into the snowmobile.

You have to run sideways on the slope and hope for the moose to pass by going downhill.
Did they have cheese?
that dude was some lucky- quick thinking- he jumped off at the last second and avoided a pretty nasty hit, maybe even fatal-

Moose hate (everything) snow mobiles and trains. They attack them often.

What is it about moose that make them so reluctant to move off a road or a track or a trail? It's like their brains cannot comprehend that they can go into the brush.
They had no manners whatsoever. They should have invited that moose home for dinner.
