Star Trek Discovery Is Cancelled And Fans Are Divided Star Trek Discovery is being cancelled after its fifth season, and the reaction from fans shows that its place in the franchise is uncertain. By Rhiannon Bevan Published 2 days ago After a six-year run, it's official: Paramount is pulling the plug on Star Trek Discovery. This isn't quite enough to make it the shortest-running mainline Trek series - that "honour" goes to Star Trek Enterprise - but it is a far more abrupt end than most. So unsurprisingly, fans are divided on both the show, and the decision to can it after just five seasons. While some are mourning the show, grateful that it kickstarted a new generation of Trek, others shed no tears at all, feeling that it was the worst of the bunch. Then we have others who are actually happy it's gone, celebrating the end of a show that seems to have struggled to find its place in the Star Trek series.

The same thing happened with Star Wars. They can only milk it for so long and then it’s not credible anymore and they end up repeating shows and ideas, and it gets tiresome. Although with science fiction they can go back in time but it does not always work.
**The only real star trek Enterprise commander.**
The only real Star Trek was the SNL episode with the set being torn down on stage while Belushi keeps trying to pretend its all real.
Anxiety ridden rebellious youth shanghaied by a perverted pied piper and conned into doing self harm in pursuit of utopia.
TOS is best.
The Discovery was that WOKENESS drove Trekkies away... 🤓
Oh man, unfortunate acronym there. Never watched; I'm strictly a TOS guy.
Perhaps the best thing to come out fo this.
Fans are divided?
This one isn’t. Kill it. Kill it with fire.

Woke is whack Jim.
YEAH!!! 69 episodes of Star Dreck
The crew especially the lead are unlikable.
I saw 6 episodes on Pluto tv and CBS and there was nothing to like about the cast or the stories.
#30
#3 Picard was always doing the wrong thing.
He did not wipe out the Borg when he could have. Costing billions of lives. Oops...
He had the tech downloaded on a tricoder for instantaneous travel thru a portal gateway but had it destroyed by Worf who then took Data and used the portal to get back to the Enterprise.
He revealed to the Romulans that Star Fleet had a ship that could cloak like a Romulan Warbird because it was not fair or something. Millions to die later.
He blew up an ancient starship of a lost civilization instead of sending a unmanned ship in to retrieve it after hardly exploring it after he got the Enterprise caught in the trap the other ship was caught in. He was embarrassed.
Data rescues a group of 20th century survivors from freeze now thaw you later as their ship was breaking down. Picard told Data that this was the wrong time and besides they were dead already so what did it matter. He later forced them to take another ship the long way home adding months to their journey to Earth because he thought they would learn something or other.
He let everyone die on a planet that he could have been rescued and scolded Worf’s brother for rescuing some.
He was going to let another planet full of aliens die but Data made contact with a little female alien and persuaded Picard to fix the volcanic eruptions.
Picard rescues Wesley Crusher / Wil Wheaton ....!
You called it! This show will disappear from Trekdom faster than a Romulan Bird of Prey when it activates its cloak!!!
It lasted six years. That’s pretty successful. It will live long into syndication.
Doesn’t work when it lasted six years.
Fascinating.
I like Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. I also like Picard.
It will died and quietly be buried because it stunk.
I never watched it. But apparently enough did to carry it six years.

Captain Kirk: Set phasers on “stun.” Fire!
Dr. McCoy: They’re not firing, Jim!
Captain Kirk: Try “kill!”
Dr. McCoy: Nope, still nothing.
Herb Goodman: You’ll make sure the property department gets those things back ,won’t you, fellas?
Dr. McCoy: If Man were meant to fly, he’d have better ratings, is that what you’re saying, Mr. Goodbody, whatever your name is? Come on, George, Nichelle.. let’s go tie one on.
Lt. Uhura: I’m with you, Kelley.
RE: Star Trek always was woke from the start.
You are right. The Gene Roddenberry basic premise was “humanistic” and either made fun of God as a bratty young boy or showed science and man could move on confidently without God.
Terrible premise.
