Christine Christopher said she was on her way into the Walmart off of Brainerd Road when she was unexpectedly hit.

On February 23, 2020 Christopher was grabbing a grocery cart to go shopping in Walmart.

In a video you can she was hit by a group of carts being pushed by an employee.

Christopher claims she blacked out for a second after being hit.

“And when I came back to myself, I realized I had been hit and my legs were scarred up, my neck was hurting, my back was hurting and I was just all messed up,” Christopher said.

She filed a lawsuit in hopes of compensation for her injuries.

“The lawsuit was filed weeks after this incident happened, but I had a lawyer during that time, but now I am representing myself. Walmart and I have been going to court but they have been denying that this ever happened and they're not Walmart,” Christopher said.

Yep.

In the space of a split second she was wounded and healed up and her clothing was undamaged.

It is a gen-u-wine miracle.

As she was getting a cart, she was bumped from behind very lightly by the row of carts the employee had just begun to push. You can see the woman seems surprised as she quickly walks several steps away and turns around to see what had bumped her (so far, a perfectly normal reaction.) At that point, she then walks several steps back to the row of carts, where she conveniently decides to fall down. If this were a cartoon, you would have heard “Cha-Ching!” as dollar signs popped up in her eyes.

My obese sister-in-law slipped and fell in a supermarket and consulted a lawyer. He said, “Sure, I’ll take the case on contingency and we’ll get you a few thousand dollars. But, you’ll have to work for it. They’re going to grill you in deposition and on the stand about your weight and physical condition as contributory causes.”

Here, it’s true that she was actually blindsided, but give me a break. Pay her medical bills, which are probably zero after state provided insurance, and send her on her way.

“The lawsuit was filed weeks after this incident happened, but I had a lawyer during that time, but now I am representing myself.”

What probably happened with the lawyer is that he told her she could get $20,000 or so for her “injuries”. She got angry because he wouldn’t sue for $3 million and the lawyer said, “Well, bye!”

If you ever think that you are unobserved in a store, just fall.

A number of years ago I was in produce when I stepped on some spinach someone had tossed on the floor.

It was that nice slimy texture and I went down.

Next thing I knew I was surrounded by store employees wanting to know if I was ok. I swear some of them were lurking in the apple bin.

Just an example of another lazy grifter who spent more time shouting “GIMMEE” that actually working.

Yep. And Walmart won’t pay her $3 mil but don’t be surprised if they write her a five figure check just to make her go away.

I was half sympathizing with her until I read about the PTST, nightmares, and eating crap. Because of grocery carts. Sounds like a scam artist to me.

I was in a grocery store in CA many years ago, and there was a black couple in front of me talking about throwing down a matchbook or a paper match and having the woman “slip” on it and then sue the chain. They were also joking because they had apparently done this before.

They didn’t do this one because they realized that I had heard them. We made eye contact and they just went on to the checkout. Nowadays they probably would have beaten or killed me.

Fraud is an age-old thing but now a lot of it is being racially justified. But it’s not good no matter who does it.

Heck, good ol’ boy Alex Murdaugh (total WASP) was doing insurance fraud up one side and down the other, including defrauding beneficiaries of insurance he had bought (he had a big policy on his wife and also the housekeeper who was probably pushed down the stairs by one of his sons), and he sure needs to be punished.

I’m glad he got it for the murders. Death would have been preferable, but I hope the federal charges will hit him hard and make sure he has no escape.

In any case, what I’m saying is that these creepy low-budget insurance scams are bad and they should be punished the same as the high-end scams. They’re wrong in themselves and they drive up rates so honest people end up paying for fraudsters.

Wal-mart and other stores will rarely pay out for reasonable requests for things that actually are their fault.

They won't in this case either.

The only times they pay out is when not doing so will either make them look very bad or if not paying out will result in stores being attacked.

Neither one is the case here.

Walmart deals with this every day. They’ll delay and tie it up and likely never settle. Their lawyers are well paid Walmart employees.

I broke my femur at Walmart. My company wanted to sue for medical expense recovery. I told them accidents happen.

On a side note: If I had not ended up in the hospital for that, a couple undiagnosed conditions (heart, thyroid) probably would have done me in.

Walmart doesn’t cave to shakedowns, they fight every one tooth and nail. They know that if they start paying people to go away that every grifter in the country will try to get in on the act.

Best one was the safety officer for the city of Philadelphia that was being called up to the Mayor’s office to be fired.

On the way there he tripped over the entry way to the elevator and had to be hospitalized and was disabled!
