Music legend Chaka Khan has blasted the mag’s editors as “blind bitches” who “need hearing aids” in a new interview — after they dared to rank her at No. 29 on a “The 200 Greatest Singers of All Time” list behind such belters as Adele and Mary J. Blige.
In a lively chat with Andrew Goldman on his “The Originals” podcast for Los Angeles Magazine, Khan complained of the rankings, “These are blind bitches! They are blind as a motherf–king bat! They need hearing aids… These must be the children of Helen Keller!”
In the interview, she went off on Mariah Carey, Joan Baez and others, while giving singers such as Beyoncé and Aretha Franklin props.

That’s a good one.
Probably made some bad decisions that resulted in her career not being as big as it could have been.
ell, you are missing most of her best work.
Yep, was gonna mention her as a gospel singer at the Triple Rock.
(Dusty Springfield)
I always thought they created Diane Dane from her or Petula Clark
Maybe Lulu
It’s all downtown, George!!
You’ve got to go downtown!!
Great job!!
I would go back, immediately
I worked one of her concerts a few years back. Although she w@s headliner, after Stephanie Mills finished playing, the crowd started leaving. Khan’s singing has probably seen better days.
Stephanie Mills had a great hit song.
Even did a great job on the Fletch theme song Bit by Bit
Chevy Chase was funny but still a political tool for the Left
Heavy smoking probably ruined her voice.
Just tell her 29 is a prime number. Like number 1.
Interesting 🤔
Didn’t know that
Props for saying this: The “Ain’t Nobody” singer also didn’t mince words when it came to folkie Joan Baez, who hit the list at No. 189. “Let’s be honest, the bitch cannot sing!”
Chaka Khan, but Immanuel Kant.
Seperate Joan Baez the vocalist from Joan Baez the social activist if you can. Did I read you correctly in that you don’t think Joan can sing? (!!)
If that’s what you meant we will have to agree to disagree. IMO, Joan had a superb mezzo soprano voice in her prime. Some thought she did too much virbrato. I consider that a feature, not a bug.
Immanuel Kant was a real pissant who was very rarely stable.
Well, to be fair it is Rolling Stone Magazine. Not exactly a paragon of journalism.
Synesthesia...don’t know that I’ve ever seen anyone use this word, other than Peter Himmelman (Bob Dylan’s son-in-law), song and album from 1989.
