Tell Me Something Good was written for her by Stevie Wonder, after she rejected the first song he tried to give her.
You can hear her as the uncredited vocalist with Steve Winwood on Higher Loved. It was supposed to be a credited duet, but the record companies wouldn't allow it.

Big - musically and otherwise - in the early-to-mid-eighties. Which Gawd help us is forty years ago.

Ksenia did just an awesome job on “Ain’t nobody” last year.
Next day, she almost ran over me with her luggage 🧳🧳 rushing to get to the van for their next gig. (I was going back to the elevators in the hotel).
I asked if that was the Chaka Khan song (thought I recognized it about 15 seconds in).
Told her she did an awesome job and she did. BTW she’s more attractive in person.

"Sweet Thing" by Rufus with Chaka Khan is one of my favorites. Two Diva's with incredible talent.

1970s
I believe I was listening to one of her songs in 1973-1974 - placing where I was in school at that time.

Did a few words in Steven Bishop’s “Save it for a rainy day.”

The list has the auto tune queen Taylor swift ahead of Donna Summer and Loretta Lynn. Kind of hard to take seriously.

I think she’s pretty right on about Rolling Stone, they wouldn’t know good music if they’ve heard it. They’ve always had an agenda.

Adele is ok, but IMHO she had nothing on Dusty Springfield.

Tell Me Something Good
1974 seemed right
Based on which school I was in when I heard that song
I thought 1973 seemed a bit early
You don’t happen to have a time machine handy, do you?

So... one big hit song (I Feel For You), one other notable hit (I’m Every Woman), a prominent back-up roll (Steve Winwood’s Higher Love), and several dance tracks.
A legend in her own mind. The reason she’s so famous is her big hit song features her name repeated over and over and over, something which TMK hadn’t been done before.

Oh yeah... and she was the guest singer on Rufus’ “Ain’t Nobody.”
