Covid finally got me. I'm in my 60s and never received the jab. I felt lousy the first 24 hours but feel pretty good now. I live on aspirin to keep the fever down, my dry cough is breaking up, and I can breathe OK. Any other suggestions anyone can give me would be appreciated because I still am a little frightened. I knew someone unjabbed who got it, felt great then died! Also, what are your thoughts on Paxlovid?
piggyback, I am also unvaxed got Covid in Dec. felt really lousy then felt better THEN it knocked me off my feet!! Was in bed for two weeks for three days of those two weeks I honestly thought I was going to die HOWEVER did not go to the hospital just stayed put and rode it out!! I doubled up on C D3 and Zinc!! I have to say though, I had a severe sinus infection from a wind storm that had happened in the desert, the Dr. put me on Prednisone I was unaware that ANY type of steroid depletes your immune system SO ALL of the supplements I had been taking for 2 and a half years became useless to me!! I am 69 years old but in very good health it was rough but my immune system did what it was supposed to!! For 1 week after being able to get up and move around my breathing was very shallow BUT that also recovered, I took aspirin EVERY 4 hours drank ginger ale faster than I could keep it in the house AND NOW I have natural immunity YIPEEEEEE!! I did NOT go to the hospital because I thought they would put me on a vent and I would NEVER have come out of the hospital!! I am back to my normal health feel great, only other time in my entire life I was ever that sick was the Hong Kong Flu, I was only 19 then but it kicked my butt for 3 weeks at 19 years old!! From 19 to 69 I haven’t had as much as a sniffle I guess I was due!! Take care if it does end up hitting you harder drink LOTS of fluids, aspirin EVERY 4 hours, double up on C, D3, Zinc get NAC also for congestion and lung health!!
“Have you thought about going to a doctor?”
Momma called the doctor and the doctor said “No more monkeys jumping on the bed”.
Ivermectin, Vitamin D3, Zinc, and Quercetin knocked the worst out for us within a day. DH had a lingering cough for a few weeks (he only took one day of ivermectin and supplements). I lost sense of smell for a week (I took a 5 day course of ivermectin). I never developed a cough.
My FIL did supplements only, he was 82 and frail, but he was over the fever in 3 days. He had to have 1 day of O2 and a week of antibiotics/steroids but he was fine.
I have not heard great things about Paxlovid. YMMV
I had it last June. Like having a very mild cold. Other than staying home for a few days I did nothing else. Didn’t even go to the doctor. I took a home test and thought it was a false positive, but a drive thru testing site test showed I really had it. It was a total nothingburger. I remain unvaxxed to this day.
Had it a year ago: black licorice <500 mg, turmeric & garlic, fluticasone \epinephrine, kills it, sulforaphene complex ( broccoli& mustard seed) green tea and boiled chicken feet tea/soup , aspirin, Apple cider vinegar, gargle with hydrogen peroxide kills it, Vicks vaporub under your nostrils kills it in your nose..one week..no bedtime never got into lungs or throat, a slight headache..never got to my lungs no phlegm, works every time even flu never lost any weight nor any energy. I yam pushing 90 years old haha I should be dead already but I aint
That’s funny
Everything in post #2 works for the flu or a cold.
“Free advice from FRoctors is just that. Advice from lay people should be evaluated warily.”
Truthfully, since 2020, the advice I got from FReepers had been better than from any “real” doctor I saw.
Everybody has a different experience, glad yours worked out!
Free advice that saves you is better than paying for advice that kills you.
Peggy, We’ve been discussing a variety of recipes in the prevention and treatment of the covid flu. Where have you been? Make sure you social distance, keep wearing your mask, and wash your hands at least once every hour. Get up in the middle of the night to way your hands. Wearing gloves while driving too.
Or Ivermectin tablets in 3, 6, and 12 mg doses.
That’s funny!

If you’re fighting a flu or cold, liposomal Vitamin C helps as well.
That’s about as good advice as I got from my doc.
He left the company. So, yes. I’m actually trying a new one out next week. I liked that old guy, but that response really hacked me off. That’s corporate medicine at big clinics for you.
Good advice in my humble opinion and add Vitamin C
Do all of the supplement stuff that people are saying.
Call your Doctor and get Pexlovid asap. It worked for my wife and I, fairly quickly.
It’s a shame that we’ve all lost some confidence in our docs..especially the ones in our government. The wife and I laugh at some of the things we hear them say on TV.
I had the COVID back before Christmas, went the horse paste route and recovered in just a few days. Never talked to the doc.
I didn’t say anything about an ER...I said see a dr.
