Covid finally got me. I'm in my 60s and never received the jab. I felt lousy the first 24 hours but feel pretty good now. I live on aspirin to keep the fever down, my dry cough is breaking up, and I can breathe OK. Any other suggestions anyone can give me would be appreciated because I still am a little frightened. I knew someone unjabbed who got it, felt great then died! Also, what are your thoughts on Paxlovid?
Exactly what I was going to post. Spot on.
Originally C19...
Agreed as I had it November 2019.
Spouse has it and rebounded.
Basically tired, coughing up stuff, can’t sleep.
Took that medicine on prescription.
I have tested negative multiple times.
Get Paxlovid ASAP - your worries will be over
No, I was never “vaccinated”.
I called my doctor and he said “Call me if you are dying, otherwise, you got this”
” Last time I checked covid tests couldn’t tell the difference between covid and influenza”
Not true. The Covid test can’t tell you if you have the Flu if you test negative for Covid
My 2 sons and I got Covid at the same time last year. It was crummy, but we all survived. You will as well. Hang in there.
In addition to the Quercetin, which I noticed
WAlmart sells, Vitamin D and Zinc, be sure to take Vitamin C. There’s a website that tells you what dosage of these vitamins to take. My husband got an inhaler for his breathing which
he says helped. We stayed away from sugar while we were sick,
drank gatorade with 0 sugar...Test your breathing with an oximter...Look up the benefit to using a nasal saline spray.
People here on FR have commented on that.
I recommend adding an antihistamine to your treatment plan. That will ease your symptoms, but it will also prevent cytokine storm, which is how the disease kills.
I took one dose of Paxlovid and discovered I’m allergic to it, so I can’t tell you much about what that’s like. I did end up severely dehydrated when I had covid, so make sure you drink plenty of fluids!
(My main symptoms were fever and fatigue. But the fatigue was such that I was sleeping all but a few minutes a day. I ended up needing fluids via IV, because I couldn’t stay awake long enough to eat or drink anything!)
IVM killed the cough for all of us…took some days though and recommended doses are much higher now in the updated protocols…20-40 mg,
by weight
Benadryl and melatonin helped with the sleep and stopped the histamine overload. NAC helped with the nasty stuff coming up.
Doxycycline prevented infection from the nasty stuff that could lead to pneumonia
Orange juice, fresh air, hot soup, get some sleep.
That does sound good!
Lol, that’s why I drink Coke Zero, and have an affinity for Granny Smith apples.
Unless the fever is very high and causing great discomfort let it run its course. It means your immune system is doing what it is designed to do. Stay away from sugary and highly refined foods. The old adage plenty of fluids and get rest is still great advice in fighting off nasties. If the weather is decent spend some time each day in the sun. Let your body be your guide. Take care of yourself.
Good. Your immune system is not compromised.
If you can’t get in to see her the phone/zoom call is a good idea. If you feel more at ease with an in person visit maybe her PA is available.
When I had it the first time, in addition to vitamin D, zinc, Quercitin, etc that others have recommended, my MD told me to take Pepcid AC twice a day and melatonin at night. Both seem to attack the virus. I also took a mucous medicine and cough syrup with an expectorant to help keep my lungs clear. Lastly, I gargled with a good strong mouthwash like mint Listerine 4 or 5 times a day to attack virus in my mouth. Basically, I hit it with everything I could to help keep the virus load down.
I have had it twice and neither case was very bad. I did not have headaches nor did I lose my taste or smell. But I jumped on it quick both times with vitamins and OTC meds above.
Also, get up and move around. Laying around makes you more susceptible to pneumonia.
I called my doc back in mid 2020 and asked him what to do to prepare. That’s when all the similar prophylaxis protocols were coming out. The health corporation had gotten to him and he spouted the party line: “follow CDC guidelines and go to the hospital if you can’t breathe.” Thanks a lot, doc.
I presume you’ve found a new doctor by now. I know I would’ve started looking right away.
