Who's behind Ron DeSantis, then?
FR ^ | March 3 | RF

Posted on 03/02/2023 11:51:39 PM PST by RandFan

I have some genuine questions and I have no malice against Ron DeSantis or his supporters but a few things trouble me about him!

He has the tacit support of the Bushes.

I know they want anyone but Trump but as one Freeper put it: Will he blow kisses back?

What does having their support mean? Does it mean Karl Rove becomes an advisor? Campaign cash, staff and what not?

Think about it.

It's not just some throw away endorsement by them it comes with serious muscle, donors, etc.

He's also visiting Texas instead of CPAC.

Will he be hanging out with Ron Paul or the Bush clan?

This will be telling to me.

I notice Fox and Murdoch are also pushing him heavily.

Again, anyone but Trump is the cry but that also comes with serious muscle and TV/media coverage.

Will DeSantis sell his soul for all this and to try and be president and if he succeeded with all these connections just WHAT kind of president will he be?

THIS is what I'm thinking and what worries me.

I much prefer Trump the disruptor. Tried and tested and you know what you're getting.

Whether you like him or not Ron is much more of a conventional politician.

Just some thoughts, FRiends...

If Trump had an MD behind his name, he would have.
When China virus first arrived in loate 2019, it was a brand new virus and no one had a clue how to stop it. It was spreading faster than delivery of a Jimmy John’s sandwich.

So Trump did the next best thing...let the MD’s call shots. I disagree that Fauci took over the country. Southern border is still open, federal budgets are still in multi-Trillion dollar deficits, Fauci did not send borrowed dollars to Ukraine, and there never was a federal mandate to get jabbed or wear mask in your home.

DeSantis will be roughed up so bad during debates by Trump, his presidential aspirations will go up in smoke for ever. Jeb Bush still has not recovered from primary debates. Jeb also was a very good governor of Florida.

Trump has not taken one bit of ownership of the damage he did. He was a phenomenal president for three years. Then he became President Pfizer. The despicable things don’t Trump voters accept and excuse never ceases to amaze me.

Good post, but I disagree with you on the Rottweilers. They’re too independent, and they’ll eventually bite Trump’s hand. The only attribute Trump values is blind loyalty. As my old Battalion Commander said to me, “respect is given (due to the rank), but loyalty is earned.”

Hope you have your Nomex suit on, you’ve undoubtedly touched nerves. Funny thing is, if Trump is the nominee, we’ll both vote for him.

Rotties can be one of the most loyal dogs there are, next to Golden Retrievers.

P.S. The Bernese Mountain Dogs, however, can have zero loyalty. Had a few, and one now. A Great Bernese, Great Pyrenees and Bernese Mountain dog mix. Beautiful animals, but fiercely independent. The best gentle giant ever made, but doesn’t fetch, hates water, and wanders off if you let her.

We have a good 95 pound Rotten Shepherd, more Rott than Shepherd. Wonderful dog, sweet around my grandkids. However, she likes to go out at 4AM. No longer a problem for me, I’m usually getting up in the middle of the night.

Toad,
Low Energy Jeb fans, Lying Ted Cruz fans, and Liddle Marco Rubio fans, didn’t enjoy the 2016 campaign season.

DeSantis fans are in for that kind of campaign.
If he decides to run.
And until he says he isn’t running.

That’s how Trump campaigns..

Put your big boy or big girl pants on..
And try to get over yourself..

275 million Americans chose covid vaccine. That is a huge voting block. I don’t think Trump is losing sleep over warp speed availability of vaccine. Anti-vaxxers are insignificant minority and would matter hill of beans in 2024.

I surmise delchiante is an astute observer of presidential campaigns. DeSantis is my governor, and I am a voter. I would hate to see his chances in 2028 go up in smoke by brawling with Trump in 2024. Democrats will have a field day playing videos in 2028 campaign of all the adjectives made famous by Trump.

They are a very vocal group in the primaries but if Trump wants to go and play President Pfizer then that’s on him.

These Trump supporters really sound tough. “Big Boy pants”…lol. That’s typical of what you hear from them, 4 star chairborne Rangers. Trump sounds great when he sticks to the issues, not so great when he’s lobbing personal attacks on anyone who disagrees with him. Unlike Reagan, he’s unable to gain support by the power and logic of his argument.

Reagan’s style worked, as evidenced by his landslide victory in 1984.

Unfortunately, many of the kids today know nothing of Reagan’s style and wit.

““Big Boy pants””

Always the homosexual references to boys with that crowd. They always think of and with their genitals.

President Trump was the ONLY president in my 82 years life who cut down China trade deficits, main cause of middle class manufacturing jobs. DeDantis can not go against his globalist sugar daddy’s. Like I said anti-vaxxers are just a pitiful small number and won’t amount to hill of beans in 2024. Democrats are not going to attack Trump because that group is 100% pro-vaccine.
So which voters Trump going to lose due to covid vaccine? The 253 anti-vaxxers posting non-stop on FR?

How did DeSantis help him in 2016?

DeSantis was one of the first congressmen to endorse Trump after he secured the nomination and encouraged the rest of the GOP to unite behind Trump to defeat Hillary.

That earned DeSantis Trump's endorsement for governor before the primary got underway.

“Congressman Ron DeSantis is a brilliant young leader, Yale and then Harvard Law, who would make a GREAT Governor of Florida. He loves our Country and is a true FIGHTER!” tweeted Trump on Friday afternoon after watching a Fox News clip of the congressman.

And Trump got millions of more votes in 2020 than in 2016.

But some sketchy election efforts thwarted that win and gave Brandon 81,000,000 historic votes..

Funny you stopped at Reagan.
And wanted to ignore the other R’s you were forced to vote for..
