So, no addressing the latest releases that it can cause cancer, early death, disease and so on? I have done this fasting and like it, but the latest “news” has made me hesitant.

When you fast regularly your body is better able to clean up old cells and regenerate new ones. A book called The 5:2 Diet got me started a number of years ago. It’s still in print, look it up.

Whether you fast 2 days a week or 16 hours a day (including sleeping times), I would bet the farm it can be good for anyone.

It is intimidating to start, but after the first one or two intervals it gets much easier.

But who knows? After the year we’ve had so far we may all be fasting by summer, eh? :/

If One Meal A Day (OMAD) went “viral” it would put an incredible hurt on the grocery store industry. But the other thing that has to be done when moving over to intermittent fasting: Cut out junk food, refined sugar, fruit juices. And eliminate intake of processed foods and processed carbohydrates.
It is extremely encouraging to see how fast the weight comes off when following the OMAD routine. Four ounces a day adds up.
You see it in your chest and stomach; and you feel it in your waist and belt.
Anyone who wants to check it out - realize there is no money in promoting fasting. And then go to YouTube. My recommendation is this guy’s stuff.

I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for 4 years (I eat only during an 8 hour window) and it has helped me a great deal. I have lost weight, my cholesterol numbers improved (I am no longer taking a statin), and my hiatal hernia (acid reflux) has healed.

If you want to try it, just postpone breakfast until 10am and don’t eat anything after dinner at 6pm. It is an easy habit to get into.

What is intermittent fasting?

How long without eating to qualify as a fast?

I made breakfast this morning so I won’t eat again until dinner. Half the time I only eat one meal a day or eat a small snack at lunch and then dinner.

I would have thought this just another fad, but I have a blood draw every few months for a condition unrelated to weight, heart, etc. After practicing intermittent fasting for several months, all my health indicators measured in the blood had improved.
