Gloria Serge, 85, was walking her dog by a lake in the Spanish Lakes Fairways community in Fort Pierce, Florida on Monday when an alligator attacked her..

The terrifying moment was captured on video

...

A frightened neighbor who witnessed the horror made the distressing 911 call

....

New video shows the terrifying moment an alligator lunged at a woman walking her dog by a lake in her Florida community, dragging her to her death.

...

Gloria Serge, 85, died after she was mauled to death by the 10-foot gator when she tried to rescue her beloved dog, Trooper, from the reptile's clutches ..

...

She can be seen walking along the lake with her dog when the alligator surfaces and then lurches at the pair.

Serge tried to get the dog away from the alligator's jaws but the gator grabbed her instead and could be seen dragging her into the lake.

...

'There's a woman in the lake. The alligator's got her!'

As the call unfolded, the neighbor became more distressed when she didn't see the woman surface.

'I think she's gone, oh my God,' Thomas cries into the phone.

...

the gator was a neighborhood fixture they called Henry. He was captured and euthanized after the mauling.

Florida authorities are warning residents about walking their pets near the ponds in lakes in the area.

Serge is the third victim to be killed by an alligator in Florida since last July.

...

Another elderly woman was killed by two alligators after falling into a pond near her home at the Boca Royale Golf and Country Club in Englewood in July 2022.

...

In May 2022, 47-year-old Sean Thomas McGuinness' body was found missing three limbs at the lake at the John S Taylor Park in Largo, Florida.

No animal is worth ... Hmmm. !

OK, so you are walking by cliff, and Kevin Moses, who escaped from prison in Florida, and his pit bull, Fang - are both hanging on by their fingernails to the side of the cliff. Moses pleads, “Oh Lawdy! Pleeeze don’t lets me fall!” Fang, just whimpers.

You can only save one. I am grabbing Fang. I may even step on Moses’ fingers for fun.

How about you???

What I’m saying is that the idiots who live at the community should have dealt with the known threat a long time ago. If they wanted the gator relocated, they should take up a collection and pay for it. Otherwise, the community funds should pay for a hunter to come kill it.

Gated senior communities in florida charge monthly maintenance fees. That should not go toward feel good “Let’s help Henry the friendly alligator move to a new forever home.” They do cover reasonable wildlife mitigation, like “Let’s help Henry become fried alligator.”

“Words mean things”???

Huh??? In 2023, and you think words mean things??? What is a woman, for example.

But anyway, if you consider “murder” to be the unjustified taking of a life - then Poor Henry was murdered. No reason to kill him. He dindu nuffin. Nuffin except what alligators do naturally.

Plus, I think a good case could be made that Henry was entrapped. Trolling a dog by his habitat.

“animals have no intrinsic value”???

I beg to differ. I did not used to be an “animal person”, but my BFF has a house full of catz. I have come to really appreciate them. I swear that some of them are human.

I would choose their lives over most humans I know. The catz are better people, than most people I know.

They are not human. They are animals. They are like leftists. Quit feeding them and see how fast they turn.

Well, that's the typical arrogant government worker thinking about the folks of flyover...

Just yokels of Florida... Yokels of East Palestine...

No diference 'tween crocs and gators, Cleetus!

Now pass me a smoke... Baby's getting nicotine withdrawals!

Look, Henry just made the Social Security system a bit more solvent, and goodness knows how much money Henry saved Medicare. Trooper will find a new home, hopefully with someone who will not troll him past alligator ponds and stuff.

If you wish to be a specist, that is your business. If you want to mourn the old lady, then go ahead. All I am saying is that there was no reason to murder Henry. Alligators have feelings too!

Whoa!!! I was telling my BFF about the article here, and she said she was not surprised at all that they killed Poor Henry. She even wrote a poem years and years ago about a similar incident, where feral and savage people killed a poor baby crocodile!

She did make a one word edit.

The Baby Crocodile – A Squeeky Poem

First, the sad story, from last year, then the poem.

A STOWAWAY crocodile on a flight escaped from its carrier bag and sparked an onboard stampede that caused the flight to crash, killing 19 passengers and crew. The croc had been hidden in a passenger’s sports bag – allegedly with plans to sell it – but it tore loose and ran amok, sparking panic. A stampede of terrified passengers caused the small aircraft to lose balance and tip over in mid-air during an internal flight in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The unbalanced load caused the aircraft, on a routine flight from the capital, Kinshasa, to the regional airport at Bandundu, to go into a spin and crash into a house. A lone survivor from the Let 410 plane told the astonishing tale to investigators. Ironically the crocodile also survived the crash but was later killed with a machete by rescuers sifting through the wreckage.

Just to keep things straight, in the airplane crash today, the poor little baby crocodile didn’t kill anybody. He was stolen from his home by people, and when he got loose, everybody JUST PANICKED and tipped the plane over into a house.

The little baby crocodile survived, then for some UNKNOWN STUPID REASON, the human beings just MURDERED HIM with a machete!!!! I guess nobody ever thought about how scared he was. Anyway, I wrote a poem so that everybody will remember the MURDER of this poor little innocent baby crocodile who never hurt anybody, so maybe this will never happen again!!!

The Baby Crocodile

by Squeeky Fromm

Ripped from the waters of the River Nile.
They took the baby Crocodile.
They left his brothers there behind
To bask in the warm sunshine.

They stuffed him in a gunny sack
And threw him in the luggage rack.
There he lay, frightened and alone
Thinking only of his river home.

Until somebody had to sneak
A look inside to take a peek.
That is when he tumbled out,
Fell to the aisle, and ran about.

The people, they were scared and ran
This way and that without a plan.
They caused the plane to get lop-sided
With a house it then collided.

One person lived to tell the story.
The actions so retaliatory.
They found the little lost reptile,
Then they killed the Baby Crocodile.

I am not overly impressed with the poem, FWIW. It is nowhere near as good as her Travonazi thingy.

The gator just wanted to snatch the little dog and would have been happy with it. The old lady must have held on the leash. Over the years I have read ten or so incidents of alligators leaping out the pond to snatch a small dog. For a snack.

No, I did not say the unjustified taking of a life.

I said the unlawful taking of a human life.

You ignore the distinction and attribute words to me I did use.

Bye Felicia.

I have seen big gators in water hazards at a Florida golf course. There were warning signs. Don’t go after the ball if it goes into the water.

My fault- I should have phrased that better. “You” in the general sense - not “you” personally. Let me rephrase it thus:

But anyway, if ONE considers “murder” to be the unjustified taking of a life - then Poor Henry was murdered.

Even the elderly should always carry. Eighteen rounds of .45 ACP or might have saved a life. A nice AR 15 chambered in .223 Remington from a helpful neighbor on a porch?

I’ve lived in Florida. Yokels aplenty. A yokel spotlighting crocodilians in the dark, probably with a head full of meth, is not an unlikely scenario.

Stupid people. Gators aren't cartoon characters. Gator should have been removed long ago.
