The alligator incident that haunts me is when a 2-year-old was pulled into the lagoon at a Disney resort.
I was responding to Penelope in 18. She apparently thinks Henry the Alligator was nice, really liked the poor 85 year old woman and just needed some love.
What the gator needed was a 12 gauge slug to the head a long time ago.
No news organization should be showing a video of the “moments” before an alligator killed a woman. There is no news value to that whatsoever. Its like when they show a dead person and blur out the face. Or the seconds before someone gets shot. No news value. All sensationalism. And these news organizations want to be treated seriously. Have some respect for the dead.
Ironic part is, FWC (fish & wildlife) will relocate them by just a phone call. They do hundreds of them.
That said, this lady had to know about that gator, he’d been there for months. She exhibited fatal behavior.
I have gators out in front, in the river, frequently. I don’t troll for them with live bait. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but life is harsh, sometimes.
The gators name was “Emanuel”. He only goes after the old and sick. The perfect reptilian Democrat.
Everyone was aware of that alligator living in the lake. she exercised poor judgement walking her small dog so close to it. Perhaps this will wake a few people up.
Use Brave browser and you won’t be hit with the ads.
It's called "Disneyfication" and they shove this down the throats of gullible children 24/7.
Gators don't think like that.....
What about the pythons? At least one can see an alligator coming.
Thank you for responding to that horrible post. The poor dear woman was 85 years old....sometimes older people forget things, or their thinking is just not as clear as it should be. What a disgusting post that was.
Not to mention all the idiots who call themselves Daddy and Mommy to my little fur baby.

Another reason to carry in the state of Florida.
“You can’t murder an animal.
Murder is the unlawful taking of a human life.
Animals aren’t human..
Words mean things.”
I agree with you. That is terminology used by vegans.
At 85 sometimes they don’t realize what they were doing. She was having a blissful walk with her companion. Were there signs up warning the folks Henry the Great lived there?
She was called home for a reason and now feels nothing but bliss.
I realize that a dog makes a good companion, especially for the elderly. I know that some people treat their dogs as family members. However, an 85 year-old woman is seldom going to win a fight with a 10 ft alligator unless a powerful firearm is part of the equation. Her best bet would have been to retreat, mourn the loss of her beloved pet, and consider adopting another dog at a later date.
Hear, hear!
Let’s have a return to alligator shoes, belts, wallets, purses, etc.
Maybe so. They could have just collected the poop and put in in an urn. Maybe spread it over a bed of roses. That would have been nice.
“You put the life of a stupid dog and an alligator above a person.”
Sometimes the person is a major part of the problem. If you walk out on to a freeway sooner or later you could be hit. And if you do is it the truck’s fault when it was doing what it is supposed to do where it was supposed to do it. I lived in Florida for a number of years and we were reminded often of the dangers of Florida waters and gators back in the mid 1970’s.
In watching the video, the gator was seen on top of the water for around 10 to 15 yards approaching at speed and the woman was paying no attention and made no effort to move away from the animal.
But to kill an animal doing what it’s species has done for centuries when the woman with her dog should have been more aware, is not the way to go either. It’s sad that she was killed. But if she had been diligent and proactive with her own protection, she would have had no problem. She had plenty of time to move away from a spot she never should have been on to begin with when the animal started towards her. What would be wrong with walking the dog about 50 feet up the bank away from the water? The animal isn’t supposed to be as smart as a person.
