Interesting but this won't stand the legal appeals, imo.

Perhaps but you might not be allowed to keep it. We discovered that partnering with a church in Ukraine. We bought the building for the church and the state took it away

...it came as a bombshell to Asian Americans and others across the state. This applies to Red Chinese citizens, so why would Asian-Americans be concerned?

Housing property...is fine....Commercial.....not so fine. So you're ok with letting a Communist set up shop in your neighborhood?

I do not believe you can buy property in Mexico without a Mexican citizen “partner” I think only citizens should be allowed property...get your citizenship...THEN buy some.

We did. We owned an apartment in Wuhan when I was in grad school there. You cannot open a factory without a Chinese partner. I do not know if you you could buy 5 properties and rent 4 of them out.

Agreed, and sorry for innocents, but I’d insist on an extreme background check that would feel like a colonoscopy of finances and communications with the homeland.
China —and many Chinese by extension—are not to be trusted as has been clearly demonstrated.

I have been told that if you buy property in Mexico, it has to be in the name of a Mexican citizen.

You can’t just cherry pick countries like China, Russia, Iran and North Korea because they are so called enemies of the state. Many Chinese green card, permanent residents or here on a working visa are academic or short term on business. Buying up vast quantities of farmland near military installations is different.

I think you can as a gringo, but as a 99-year lease, which can be terminated by the MexGov at will for specific reasons.

Permanent residents are not prohibited from buying property.
