Raquel Welch, who paved the way as both an actress and international sex symbol has died ... TMZ has learned.
According to family members, Raquel died this morning after a brief illness.

The only other person who fell into the same kind of “sexy but virginal” vibe as Raquel Welch was Doris Day. And even that is not a complete comparison.
Doris Day was the “girl next door”, while Raquel Welch was “the feral woman”.
Raquel could have been a war queen.
