Late morning is best, and it doesn’t appear to be a problem if you have eaten.

My Lady Friend and I walk 1-2 miles, every day, around 1pm; that’s enough for us.

I’m trying intermittent fasting. We eat breakfast at noon. Going to the gym is tough on a fast. I chug some aminos 20 minutes before and it seems to help. Been at it a month and have lost zero pounds. I must be doing it wrong.

Diabetics should exercise about 30 minutes after supper, before bedtime. Burning fat is nice of course, but controlling glucose is better.

Exercise doesn’t burn very many calories, anyway. Over a relatively short period of time, regular activity can cause the resting metabolic rate to slow down to a break even point. Adaptive thermogenesis causes this. It’s a big reason why the behemoths on Biggest Loser almost always gain back the weight.
People are not fatter these days because of less activity; they are fatter because they eat too much. Lack of “playing outdoors” isn’t why kids are fat. It’s cramming chips and soda down their necks.
