My husband wakes up routinely at about 4:30 on weekdays - he’s an early bird, like his father was.
He has coffee, works out with weights, eats breakfast, takes a shower, and finally goes to work.
I couldn’t do it - I’ve always been a night owl; but it makes him happy and healthy.
One study showed ANY light will disturb your sleep, so of course government requires smoke detectors WITH A LIGHT that you can’t turn off in every bedroom in America.
Not true.
There are no smoke detectors in any of my bedrooms.
Could you put a piece of tape on it?
Mine either. There’s one in the adjacent hall, and I know from my husband’s cooking (!) that it definitely works; but it has no ‘light’.
According to a 2022 JAMA Network study on racial and ethnic disparities in sleep duration, having a healthy relationship with sleep is more difficult for people who face systematic racism.
Oh, FFS.
Those who prepared that study were obviously never OTR truck drivers.
Night owl, yep.
Get a lot done when others are sleeping
I prefer and need a quiet environment for thinking
Its just cringe when you see that garbage.
Its like, save it for the lesbian drum circle...
I like sunny days; not crazy about cloudy, rainy ones. But to me, darkness helps with thinking, concentration - sometimes even energy. When the Sun is shining, everything seems so ‘busy’, and distracting - and frankly, it takes me a while to get going in the morning :-).
I do very different things when it’s light and when it’s dark. I guess there’s something electromagnetic going on.

Or maybe they shouldn’t be hanging with the homies at “da club” until dawn.
Yeah...saw that...sheesh...maybe it’s their habits...
Yep that’s the sentence I stopped reading.
Yeah. Go to bed earlier.
Bump for 0430
Stop watching TV. Not only will your sleep and everyday activities be improved, but it will be very easy to wake up and be active at any time of the day. Try it and see. #KillYourTV
Read all that and you’ll fall asleep right away.
