Competence is dead and diversity killed it

Have affirmative action hiring practices caused overall competence to plummet? The record appears to show exactly that.

For no good reasons whatsoever, competence was allowed to die on the vine in order to give the less competent a leg up. Not equality but superiority rules the hiring, firing, and education of Americans. Worse, many of those who were affirmatively hired do not do as good a job as those whose excellence was obvious. You can see it in customer service, which for many businesses is abysmally incompetent. There is a resentful casualness in those who are hired to serve others that would not have been acceptable even two decades ago. The competence level one deals with on a daily basis is on life support.

While there are pockets of the competent in places like Florida and some Southern states, much of America is being run by children with no sense of responsibility or pride in accomplishment. That is because there is little real accomplishment in their lives; children get passed through the public education system having to learn little of value. Instead, they are taught perverse sexual practices and aberrant lifestyles. They are taught how to be activists but are not taught to be competent breadwinners.

It is harder and harder to find good computer techs to service the average home computer user. Instead, salespeople are sent out to do the most basic installations, utterly lacking the sophistication to handle a complex computer problem that may come up. Training in many fields is rudimentary. Surgeons and physicians are being put through university because of their skin color, not necessarily their competence. Ditto pilots. Do you want to fly or get operated on by these hires? I'll pass.

It is an opportunity for new “competent” companies to overtake the old woke companies.

“It is an opportunity for new “competent” companies to overtake the old woke companies.”

Biggest problem is that there’s a limited number of competent (i.e., private and/or home-schooled) employees to hire.

My experience has been just that. A low level of competence is accepted and the person is given a job. Complaints will be ignored.

An annoyance when ordering burgers. A disaster in the flight deck or operating room.

And as Rand foreshadowed in "Atlas Shrugged", the parasites will latch on to each one of those and suck it dry.

This is an opportunity for the young generation who have a sense of success built into them. Now-a-days just showing up willing to work is a huge asset. So far my kids are taking my advice.

The seniority system happens in union shops. Doesn’t work. People are held down. Certain people are gonna get screwed under any system. Now others are not going to put up with it. That’s the dilemma. Whites(the achievers) will soon be outnumbered. Asians vote democrat-go figure. Europe has always been more advanced than the rest of the world. We see it here.

The Bakke case. The guy who took his spot in med school turned out to be a genuine quack. Not even smart enough to lower his sights as a gp.

Over the last year I have had the need of various services and so I did what many do, google for company in my area and looked at their web site. Then I would use their CONTACT US link to send an email describing what I was looking for and to be given a quote. I have never received an answer from any of them - nobody is checking the companies emails!

I suspect the person’s who’s job it was to answer e-mail is no longer employed and no one else in the company knows they have an email account.

I agree with the main point of this article, but found this confusing:
I had a running battle with my heating and air company for four years. I have told this service company at least two dozen times to please schedule 4x annual AC filter replacements because my spouse and I suffer from allergies.
Is this guy saying he can't change his own air filters? Surely not.

The DIE thing is a numbers game.

The folks who built it figured, “Yes, initially totally incompetent people will fill spots competent people held. However, since we are throwing them in the pool, a certain number of them, call it 20 percent, will become competent, will learn to swim. This may be enough to inject equality into the trades and professional class.

Sucks for the competent people that will be displaced, and for society in general that will have to suffer as a result. But like the old Russian joke goes, ‘How do you find the new doctor? Follow the trail of bodies he leaves behind him.’”

Freedom and equality are bitter enemies. Implacable. For one to survive, the other must die. 200 million dead people can attest to this over the last century or so.

Wifey and I were just talking about how much most people depend on a complex and integrated infrastructure, while at the same time, there are fewer and fewer people capable of understanding it, maintaining it, or fixing it when it breaks.

We, collectively, have passed the point of taking the world around us for granted and are full on into obliviousness.

The people, for example, saying we should get rid of ICEs in favor of EVs remind me of those who think we don’t need farmers anymore because our food comes from the grocery store.

The saddest thing is that those few of us who could keep things running, will be encumbered by layers and layers of ignorant drones enforcing useless legislation and regulation, unable to see that they’re weilding the rope that will eventually be tied around their own necks.

Spent a couple of years working for a search firm / head hunter. A joke was, How can you tell when you have a good employee, they go to work for someone else.

If you are a good employee most employers will make sure you are happy.

I recently replaced an HVAC thermostat in my house myself but found the manual was in error regarding the wiring.

I contacted Honeywell and they sent me to a separate tech service that charged me for advice. Though the repairman they connected me with was quite good (all communication was via text messaging--a real pain in the ass), the entire process cost me more than the new thermostat itself.

When Biden gave the non-binary drag queen thief (Sam Brinton) a job in charge of nuclear fuel (based on NOTHING MORE than a cross dressing kink) - ‘merit’ as a requirement was officially dead.

This idiot still would be in charge if he hadn’t branched out into stealing women’s luggage. Is that nuts or what? Crazies...

A recent article points out International medical graduates account for about 25% of physicians currently practicing in the United States. In low-income areas, many of which are rural, more than 42% of doctors are international grads. Yet the share of rural medical students dropped by a staggering 30% between 2002 and 2017. This sure as hell isn’t MAGA.

Just this week I read a VA news posting on Veterans can now request interpreters! What could go wrong, spit.
