interesting to watch the usual suspects try different approaches on this
1) ad hominem attacks
2) demand ‘proof’
3) redirect to the current price of gas in europe (ignoring the legal implications of the attack)
4) simply not post on these threads at all (no script yet?)
we will see if overnite a more cohesive set of ‘debate’ points gets out and they can do better.
as far as the incident itself, it was pretty obvious very early to all who were not determined to see it. cuo boni to the polish MP thanking the US to 2 admin officials openly stating NS2 would not go operational ever in event of war seemed a pretty simple case.
it is, of course, an act of war against germany too but germany is crate-trained and will behave. Russia is unlikely to be baited into anything without some premeditation, and likely they know more than Hersch revealed already.
I have concluded he is possibly just doing a job, but hasn’t got much to work with yet on this one. most of the others are staying clear for now but i would expect some good disruption themes to be out by tomorrow.

people whose opinions I consider are mostly saying this is too on the nose. not that the west didn’t do it, but hersh put this out to control the blame (and possibly shield other culprits).
In a world rife with conspiracies, you worry enough to add the word theorist? You are not a serious thinker at all. Why are you on the FR? Hersh was reporting Conspiracy facts, and this is not the first one he has hit right on the bean.
One of my best buds, and first cousin was in that Division right after Calley was taken for court martial. His first experiences were in the aftermath of this. Seymour Hersh did the veterans a favor, and American patriots also.

I’ve got to say I believe this article. This was a declaration of war. We need to be extremely nervous as with Biden at the helm of a war, we’re simply f’d.

i think it is going to have ramifications long-term and not only with russia, or even not mainly with russia, but with china and iran.
If this being the other way around, we would be bombing Russian. We are going to pay for this.
