The Croatian President Slammed His US-Led NATO Allies For Provoking Russia & China
Oriental Review ^ | 01/02/2023 | Andrew Korybko

Central European countries like Croatia, Hungary, and also recently Austria too are beginning to emerge as voices of reason in the West after their de facto New Cold War bloc’s proxy war on Russia through Ukraine over the past year failed to defeat that Great Power. They rightly realize how counterproductive this NATO-led campaign has been for their collective interests, ergo why they’re urging restraint and even an outright reversal of policy at this point in time.

Croatian President Zoran Milanovic is unexpectedly giving Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban a run for his money when it comes to being the voice of Western pragmatism towards the Ukrainian Conflict. This Balkan leader’s recent press conference in Petrinja saw him lambast his NATO allies for provoking Russia and China. He condemned their proxy war plots against both multipolar Great Powers and argued that Croatia must do its utmost to remain neutral amidst these tensions lest it inevitably suffer.

His pragmatic stance also extends to regional affairs after he condemned the West’s amputation of Serbia’s Autonomous Province of Kosovo & Metohija. It was surprising to hear such words from a Croatian representative considering these two countries’ well-known tensions, but that simply reinforces the observation that President Milanovic is truly among the most balanced Western leaders. For that reason, some other points from his latest press conference deserve to be highlighted too.

On the topic of regional animosity, he outright declared that those sentiments that previously existed between Croats and Serbs pale in comparison to the Baltic countries’ hatred of Russia, which he described as pathological. Similarly, he condemned the European Parliament for talking about “tearing Russia apart”, warning that their target won’t accept the failure of its ongoing special operation and might thus ultimately resort to nuclear weapons as a last resort if need be.

Germany and other NATO countries’ dispatch of tanks to Ukraine won’t make a meaningful difference on the ground, President Milanovic predicted, but might actually push Russia and China closer together. That outcome would be strategically disadvantageous for the Collective West, or what can also be described as the US-led West’s Golden Billion, and should thus be avoided since it could reshape the balance of influence in the New Cold War between his side and the Global South.

Crimea will never be Ukrainian again, President Milanovic assessed, which adds to his argument against continuing to arm that former Soviet Republic against Russia. Humanitarian aid and continuing to condemn Russia at multilateral fora will therefore be the maximum extent to which Croatia will participate in NATO’s proxy war on Russia through Ukraine. All told, his views are extremely refreshing since no Western leader apart from Prime Minister Orban ever spoke in such a way thus far.

Nobody can credibly accuse President Milanovic of being a so-called “Russian agent” either since it wasn’t under his administration that Russia acquired a major stake in Croatia’s food group Agrokor, which is estimated to account for a whopping 15% of his country’s economy. He actually brought that point up during his press conference to preemptively deflect from predictable ad hominem attacks such as those that followed his similarly pragmatic comments a year ago in early February 2022.

What this goes to show is that some Central European countries like Croatia, Hungary, and also recently Austria too are beginning to emerge as voices of reason in the West after their de facto New Cold War bloc’s proxy war on Russia through Ukraine over the past year failed to defeat that Great Power. They rightly realize how counterproductive this NATO-led campaign has been for their collective interests, ergo why they’re urging restraint and even an outright reversal of policy at this point in time.

Europe is paying the price for all this, not America, as President Milanovic wisely remarked during his press conference. It can therefore be intuited that he’s implying that the indefinite perpetuation of this proxy war is indeed part and parcel of the US’ plot to reassert its previously declining unipolar hegemony over the continent. Under such newfound conditions, it’s little wonder that Washington is now exploiting NATO to saber-rattle against China, which the Croatian leader also said that he’s against.

What’s happened over the past year is remarkable in the grand strategic sense for several reasons. First, the US provoked a major conflict in Europe by miscalculation, with the second point being that it rhetorically raised the stakes in this resultant proxy war to an absurd extent by fearmongering that Russia is a modern-day manifestation of Nazi Germany. Third, this artificially manufactured information warfare narrative makes it practically impossible for the US to de-escalate, hence its “mission creep”.

The fourth point is that the aforesaid fake news narrative is also being applied towards China too, albeit modified for the regional political-security conditions of the Asia-Pacific, in order for the US to obtain European cannon fodder for “containing” that multipolar Great Power on a similarly false basis. And finally, the last reason why the past year is so remarkable in the grand strategic sense is because it clearly outlined the contours not just of the New Cold War, but also a potential Third World War too.

To briefly elaborate though without any intent of sounding alarmist like most in the Alt-Media Community deliberately do whenever they discuss this sensitive subject, it’s obvious that the Golden Billion is aggressively trying to “contain” the multipolar engines of Russia and China. The purpose behind doing so is to indefinitely delay the global systemic transition to multipolarity so as to uphold the US’ unipolar hegemony as long as possible.

Instead of being forthright about this with their public, which would admittedly risk a lot of backlash since the average member of their society isn’t expected to support this literal plot for world domination, the West’s perception managers falsely frame everything in terms of “values”. The so-called “rules-based order” is presented as the concept that must be protected at all costs despite being just a euphemism for the selective implementation of double standards aimed at advancing the US’ interests.

Nevertheless, by twisting the facts (even sometimes going as far as manufacturing “convenient” ones) and related perceptions thereof, the West is trying to cultivate support for this inevitable series of proxy wars that are expected to define the New Cold War but which might accidentally turn into a World War. President Milanovic is keenly aware of these dangerous military-strategic dynamics, which is why he was so outspoken in condemning the West in his latest press conference and should thus be applauded.

Our Ukrainian allies have added the Croatian President and Hungarian PM to their Myrotvorets list, (aka a “ kill list”) used by their intel service and nationalist radicals to track and potentially assassinate “ enemies” of the Kiev nationalist regime.

So, is it just me, or does something seem off about this whole Russia-Ukraine war. Usually, we have people coming out of the woodwork to negotiate a peace deal. In this one, everyone wants to send billions to Ukraine to keep fighting. We know the military industrial complex is getting rich. What other reasons are there to keep up the fighting?

After the war ended in 1995, Croatia decided to privatize their industry. The most extensitve and profitable of all was their food processing industry, combined with agricultural potential. Most of it landed in the lap of Todorović and his Agrokor corporation, which controlled the entire production and distribution chain - farms, processing plants, packaging plants and retailers.

However Croatia then joined the EU and the cracks appeared in his business model. Specifically, his firms specialized in what we might call “high price, low quality” segment, which understandably suffered when real competition finally arrived. He still kept up his business model and tried to expand his holdings, but ended up unable to find sources of finance to do so. He eventually ended up with loan sharks with Russian passports.

Then the obvious things happened and most of Croatian industry ended up with Sberbank, ultimately owned by the Russian state. Is it any wonder their president is Putin’s lapdog?

Dedollarization.

The US has been the leading superpower since WW2.

In recent years we have become a bully and thief.

Other leaders who challenged the dollar’s hegemony were Saddam and Khaddafi.

Now, countries have become tired of our weaponization
of the dollar, use of Swift as punishment, and sanctions, sanctions, sanctions.

Those sanctions lose power if the dollar is no longer a reserve.

After Bretton Woods, sometime in the 70s we dropped our reliance on a gold standard, and turned to the Saudis to prop us up with the petrodollar.

The petrodollar is ancient history.

I understand Warsaw is raking it in on this war.

And now has considerable power over Ukraine elections.

“ Central European countries like Croatia, Hungary, and also recently Austria too are beginning to emerge as voices of reason …”

I hope the list continues to grow.
I can’t stress enough how against this corrupt war I am. While how I feel means nothing, hopefully Croatia, Hungary, and Austria’s voices are heard and builds a resistance.

I guess one only has to look into a situation enough to properly determine -— who is the real rapist?

Or one can just take a simple and superficial approach, especially when it works for personal bias.

The Ukrainian militia were ethnically cleansing Hungarians in Transcarpathia. Orban has been threatening Ukraine, telling them to stop...went to the EU or UN over it.

Apparently he found the right threat because yesterday they pulled out.

“What other reasons are there to keep up the fighting?”

I’m not sure who said it but....

“Keep the Russians out, the Americans in, and the Germans down.”

The blowback for provoking this entire thing, instigating the Maidan Coup, and destroying Nord I and II is going to be catastrophic for the World Police.

https://southfront.org/croatian-president-added-to-ukrainian-kill-list/

Apparently, being in favor of peace in Europe is reason enough for the Ukrainian neo-Nazi regime to threaten the someone’s life. After criticizing the German Foreign Minister’s irresponsible pro-war remarks and emphasizing the importance of peace with Russia for European stability, Croatian President Zoran Milanovich has been added to Myrotvorets, the Ukrainian government’s public kill-list. The case shows how the Ukrainian regime deals with its own international “allies” – since Croatia is a member of NATO and EU.

Croatian President Milanovich “disappointed” Ukrainian and Western leaders with his realistic statements. He has long asserted that Moscow is an important point for European stability and supported talks that take Russian interests into account. Recently, he criticized Annalena Baerbock’s pro-war statements, saying: “The German foreign minister says we must be united, because I quote, we are at war with Russia. I didn’t know that, Maybe Germany is at war with Russia, but then, good luck. Maybe this time it turns out better than 70-odd years ago. If we are at war with Russia, then let’s see what we need to do. But we won’t ask Germany for its opinion”.

In the last week of January, Milanovich’s name appeared on the website of the “Myrotvorets” group, in the “list” section, which is intended to expose the data of the people the Kiev regime wants to kill. The site also informs the groups that helped it to obtain the data of the listed. The information is provided by various intelligence agencies, both Ukrainian and Western ones, including American institutions such as the CIA and FBI. In the case of Milanovich, this was provided by Ukraine’s GRU.

“Myrotvorets” (ironically, the word “peacemaker” in Ukrainian) is formally a Ukrainian NGO, but which, in practice, acts as a state department. The group collects data from people considered enemies by the government and indexes it on a large online platform. On its website which is hosted on a NATO’s server, Myrotvorets defines itself as a “Center for Research of Signs of Crimes against the National Security of Ukraine, Peace, Humanity, and the International Law”, which provides “information for law enforcement authorities and special services about pro-Russian terrorists, separatists, mercenaries, war criminals, and murderers”.

What makes the site extremely dangerous is not merely listing people who supposedly “should die”, but the fact that the Kiev regime actually uses the information given by the organization to persecute and kill those listed. Murders such as that of Daria Dugina, who was included on the site, show that Kiev is really trying to fulfill the objective of eliminating all those who are identified by Myrotvorets as “criminals”. Also, when a listed person dies, the site updates its section by putting the word “liquidated” in the victim’s name.

It is also necessary to emphasize that, in addition to politicians, diplomats, military and journalists, according to research recently made by Russian officials, more than 300 children from Donbass are included in the list. Many formal requests have already been made by Russians and foreigners for the site to be disabled, but no action has been taken so far.

In justifying Milanovich’s inclusion on the death list, Myrotvorets exposes: “2.02.2022. ‘There is no European or EU stability without Russia’, said Croatian President Zoran Milanović, adding that ‘Russia is a factor in that equation, and we should have an agreement with Russia’. Milanović accused the UK of ‘inciting’ and believes that pushing Ukraine towards the confrontation with Russia is ‘irresponsible’. Asked why he did not meet the UK’s Secretary of State for Defence, Ben Wallace, who was in Zagreb, the Croatian president, told journalists he does not meet with defense ministers”.

As we can see, the statement to justify the addition is old. In fact, this is not the first time the President appears on the list. He had already been included in early 2022, when he criticized UK’s anti-Russian provocations. But apparently his name was hidden in recent months, having now reappeared due to his criticism of Baerbock. The site constantly updates its kill-list, deactivating and reactivating files, according to the frequency of “pro-Russian” statements made by those listed. For example, the head of Twitter Elon Musk was even included in the list after defending peace negotiations with Russia, and was subsequently hidden. In this sense, Milanovich’s defense criticism against Baerbock seems to be the reason for his “re-addition”.

Indeed, it remains to be seen what the position of the EU and NATO will be in the face of the fact that the leader of a member country of both organizations is being threatened with death by a non-member state. In theory, the West should protect Milanovich and even engage in preventive intelligence operation to stop Kiev from trying anything. But, in reality, both organizations are more likely to ignore the topic and continue to support the neo-Nazi regime, despite all its crimes.

◾A Latvian woman is outraged at the fact that there is a Myrotvorets (kill list) in Latvia where they target alleged “ pro-Russian” Latvian citizens:

- Hello friends, I have urgent news
A friend of my acquaintances from Riga just happened to visit me and told me that she was brought into the Latvian “Myrotvorets” (”Peacemaker”).

- It doesn’t surprise me that I haven’t found my name there yet, but it will definitely appear there soon
To say that there is no fascism in Latvia... after that, we need to speak loudly that there is fascism in Latvia.

◾Here are the web and telegram channel of this kill list, that everyone should report:
