Here's a look at the 2023 nominees to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Cyndi Lauper
Kate Bush
Sheryl Crow
Missy Elliott
Joy Division/New Order
Iron Maiden
George Michael
Willie Nelson
Rage Against The Machine
Soundgarden
The Spinners
A Tribe Called Quest
The White Stripes
Warren Zevon
Soundgarden yes
everyone else no
There are few things less relevant than the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
No Nickelback? Outrage!
/s
Joy Division/New Order should have been years ago. Cyndy Lauper?
Yes, the Country Music Hall of Fame.............
Surprised at Warren’s nomination. His best songs weren’t politically correct: Excitable Boy, Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner, and Lawyers, Guns, and Money, to name a few.
I was hooked on him in 1979, when I went home with a waitress, while TDY in Northern Germany. Thankfully, she wasn’t with the Russians. Our time together was more in tune with Roxy Music’s “Oh Yeah”. She also loved Dire Straits.
Maybe they could just do a spin off “the One Hit Wonders Hall of Fame”.
White Stripes:
Seven Nation Army
Icky Thump

Two of my favorite bands likely will never be nominated: Strange Fruit and Spinal Tap.
You mean The Starland Vocal Band isn’t in yet?
I could see that -
The Knack
Diesel
The Kings
😂👍
Remember, Life’s A Long Song. No sense Living In The Past! :)
Where’s ‘The B-52s’?
No Yoko Ono? 🙄
Offut..................
I would add J. Geils Band to any HoF list. Those guys rocked and blew away most bands they opened for, including the Dio fronted Black Sabbath show I saw.
I second your nomination of Mott the Hoople, another great band whose records don’t do them justice, live they were killer and Ian Hunter solo is one of my fav artists. An English Dylan.
I thought Zevon was already in it.
I saw Anderson a couple years ago. Years of throat issues have taken a toll on his singing…but he still ripped that flute on one leg.
Maybe you were thinking of Levon Helm...........
