Things have changed.
Trump needs to take out all the Republicans, so Democrats have no opposition.
It’s stupid, but to Trump, it’s all about Trump and he believes this will help him.
If he’s better, he’s got to prove it. Other people are coming into the race now, too, and he’s got to prove that he’s better than them as well.
Apologizing for the shutdown and the vaccine (which weren’t his ideas, but he was stampeded into them and has never admitted that) would be a start. Also, a little more support for the J6 people, who turned out to support him and then things went sideways, would be welcome.

Had the President turned the same critical and caustic eye to those he placed around him, and chosen others to wield the levers of power, we might not be enduring the endless shit show that passes for Current Events. I’m thinking Pence, Kelly, Priebus, etc.
He could be right about DeSantis, I have no idea and know him only from the headlines, his times at the podium and his actions as Governor. Actions speak loudly and I like what I hear, but do want to know more about him. That’s what Primaries are for.
I’m fine with it. DeSantis continues to hide, so, run with it President Trump!

I am hoping Trump has a good reason and it will come out later.
For now, it stinks.
At this point it seems that Trump may be the nominee in 2024 (the primary voters will decide) but I think the Deep State will see to it that he doesn’t become President again, whatever it takes. In the process he may destroy DeSantis as a potential nominee in 2028.
If anyone is surprised at Trump attacking DeSantis they clearly didn’t pay any attention to the 2016 primaries.

I wish Trump would just shut up. DeSantis hasn’t even declared an intent to run. If this keeps up I won’t vote for him. Heck, maybe I should run for President!

DeSantis supporters have been rightfully criticizing Trump’s mouth, not his record or his policies. Remember “lying Ted”? “Horse face”? “Pencil neck”? “Sanctimonious” Desantis? How is name calling like that going to win him votes?

Nothing Trump says about Ron will come close to the viciousness and lies of the deep state, Dems and MSM should he get the nomination. But a battle with trump should still give us some sense of how he will handle the attacks. So, I welcome it.
