Just saw a movie with the actor that played Captain Pike.
Hell to Eternity, a WWII epic.................
He’s also one of the demolition engineers in “The Longest Day”. Gets fragged right before the blow the concrete barrier/wall.

He died at a really young age, 42, in 1969, from a stroke that was most likely caused by an on-set accident with an explosive and a later fall down some stairs.
He turned down the Star Trek role as Captain Pike, saying he wanted to focus more on his film career, thinking the Star Trek series would not last long, and was subsequently replaced by William Shatner..............
