Hunter Biden's email to Burisma business partner infers 'direct access' to classified information: Cruz
Fox News ^ | 1/29/23 | Bailee Hill

Sen. Ted Cruz sounded off on an email Hunter Biden sent to a Burisma colleague, alleging the correspondence indicates he had access to classified material as new information is revealed regarding the magnitude of Biden's latest scandal.

Cruz joined "Sunday Morning Futures" to discuss why the email was "unusual" and how it infers that he had "direct access" to the information that could be tied to Biden's alleged mishandling of thousands of records.

"Hunter Biden didn't write that," Cruz told Maria Bartiromo. "Hunter Biden is not an expert on Ukraine. He's not an expert on Eastern Europe. He's not an expert on Russia, but that email did help get him on the board of Burisma. It did help get him paid $83,000 a month because it showed a level of expertise not coming from him, but he was getting it from somewhere. That's clearly from some sort of briefing. We don't know whether it was a classified briefing or not, but that is the sort of analysis that is often within a classified briefing."

"And this email is unusual in the Hunter Biden emails, there's a level of scholarship and erudition that if it magically appeared, somehow it doesn't appear in the other emails he's sending," he continued. "The obvious question is what was he cutting and pasting from? What was his source? And it raises the natural inference that Hunter Biden had direct access to these classified documents."

The email in question was from 2014 - Hunter Biden sent the correspondence to Devon Archer, who was also on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company.

Lawmakers have been quick to note the content of the email implies a level of energy expertise Hunter did not have, alleging he could have had access to classified information...

And the FIB still doesn't have a clue. Has Hunter been asked about any of this?

It does not “infer” anything, it implies.

Didn’t read the article, (that’s FReeper tradition) but imply vs infer is the first thing I noticed as well.

I have become too cynical. Wake me when Cruz does something that matters about this.

All old information which was out a long time ago. Deep state doesn’t want Trump because he is their destroyer. Cruz and others know if they really get too close, things will go bad for them so they feign outrage, collect donations and “pass go”.

And the deep state hurdles America to oblivion.

This information was not “out there” and is only coming to light with the analysis of Hunter’s laptop. This particular document was clearly part of a security briefing, to which Hunter would have had no access without his father’s document stash. I have no doubt, also, that Joe helped his son select and write this, since it was Joe’s goal to get Hunter on the board of Burisma and Hunter was completely ignorant of both the energy industry and geopolitics.

The implications are enormous.

Cruz is doing an excellent job…and, btw, not everything in the world has to do with Trump. Trump really didn’t destroy much of anything “Deep State,” on top of that, for all that he talked a good game.

I wonder:

Who, at the highest levels of the Biden administration,

or Fox News, knows the difference between “imply” and “infer?”

Might be the one what wrote them e-mails.

Happy to see several comments about the misuse of “infer”. Not sure if that is a direct quote from Cruz. If so, he should know better. If the “reporter” chose to use that term to describe what Cruz was saying, it might “imply” that correct English grammar is no longer a priority. Sad, but true!

Well, over the next two years we certainly won’t see the Senate exploring this matter. But iy just might happen in the House.

Agree with the following edit and a reference to BHO.

BHO occasionally spoke the direct truth, like when he spoke about “fundamentally tranform” America. He sold the useful idiots on hope and change, but hope is not a plan and he never defined the end-state of change.

That “change” is still underway and sadly for you and me, likely in our last trimester of life, the goals of “change” indeed represent oblivion for the republic and culture we treasure.

It won’t be “oblivion” for those at the top of the INGSOC pyramid, but also not be Utopia for the useful idiots who think they have a place of honor and privilege in the emerging Inner Party. (Ref: 1984, Orwell, 1949) They’ll be Outer Party at best, and likely discarded as Proles- exiled to the equivalent of District 11 or 13 in the Hunger Games. But they’ll be happy to be there since they have bread and circuses.

Bingo! I heard my English teachers in my head correcting me when I saw that atrocity.

You have to wonder how such basic grammatical goofs get into publications. Of course, “Him and I went to the store.” is commonplace these days as well as many other such abuses. Another nails-on-the-board is “Team A verse Team B.” Aaaggghhh!

One of the reporters who regularly appears on FNC was talking about this two or three days ago—presumably where Cruz learned about it. I forget her name.
