Results of IQ versus Cars study. Published in UK https://www.scrapcarcomparison.co.uk/blog/smartest-drivers/
Our research showed that Skoda drivers were the most intelligent of the 22 car brands included in the study, with an average IQ score of 99. Interestingly, our previous research found that Skoda drivers were the drivers with the least psychopathic tendencies too, perhaps demonstrating that Skoda drivers may be calmer on the roads.
Suzuki (98.09), Peugeot (98.09), Mini (97.79) and Mazda (95.91) drivers followed to make up the top five most intelligent motorists when split by car brand driven, all with average IQ scores of over 95.
On the other end of the scale, our study found that BMW drivers generally had a lower IQ, with a score of 91.68, alongside Fiat (90.14) and Land Rover (88.58) drivers. However its worth remembering that worldwide average IQ sits between scores of 85 and 115, so all surveyed sat within that scale.
Gasoline car drivers scored an average IQ score of 94.35, followed by hybrid (93.89) and diesel (92.91) drivers, while electric drivers placed in fourth position with an average score of 90.19 – 4.16 less than gasoline drivers on average.
Those choosing a white car scoring on average 95.71 on the IQ test – a significant 7.28 more than those choosing green vehicles, who ranked with an average IQ score of 88.43.
Land Rover drivers. They don’t even notice there are other vehicles on the road.
You may have a point there. We don’t see many Land Rovers in our area anymore. The weekenders here used to have them but soon found out they weren’t a good fit for our area and having them towed 120 miles back to CT to get them fixed royally sucked. I am partial to old 96s though.
Rover drivers too busy noticing the odd noises and various electric/electronic problems. Very distracting.
School Bus drivers, no question
Q: What do you call a Skoda with dual exhaust?
A: A wheelbarrow
Stupidest are those driving alone, windows closed, wearing a mask to protect themselves from the Kung Flu. (probably listening to NPR)
Czech made car, offshoot of Volkswagen.
Cheap, reliable, no frills!
Not available in the USA.
My daughter, who lives in Germany, drives a Skoda. Made in Czech Republic.
Skoda is a cheap (if you can believe it) version of a VW.
I have a VW and have lost quite a bit of brain power after buying it.
The most delicate car I have ever owned; okay so I was strapped for cash and a 2 year old car selling for half of its original price was the kicker. Bad decision.
Next will be the 2024 Subaru Impreza RS with the bigger 2.5 liter engine, all gasoline. Hopefully my memory will improve.
DONT’ BUY A EUROPEAN CAR!!!! IF YOU BREAK DOWN OUTSIDE OF URBAN HIPSTERHOOD YOU ARE SUNK!!!
**applying make-up,**
During my almost 20 yrs of OTR driving, the cell phone has seemed to be the top killer. At least women don’t apply makeup the entire time they are in the car. But those moments can be ridiculous in their efforts to paint their faces.
Once I was stopped in a left turn lane at a 4 way traffic light intersection. The traffic coming from my right had a left turn lane, and I watched as a young woman in that lane turned to go in the direction I just came from. I thought, “What is she doing?”
As she went by my drivers side window I realized she was applying either mascara or eye liner,... while turning through an intersection.
They used to make T-38s. That’s why Hitler wanted to take Czechoslovakia. The chassis were pretty good and they were used for self propelled artillery.
The fourth ring of the Audi logo. Along with porsh-uh and vee-dub.
Personal observation: Yukon drivers think they own the road and pay no attention to the others of us trying to survive. Next are Silverado drivers. Course I live in an area where there are lots of both, so may just be a sample size issue.
Sounds pretty smart to me.
There was one trip on the thruway in NY where I saw people in two separate driving down the thruway with open books propped up on the steering wheel. I was shocked because I remember wondering that if I saw those two in our usual 3 hour trip, just how common was this?
Did I ever wish for an air horn on our minivan!
I would have blasted it when I was right next to them, just at the point where they could have caught me out of the corner of the eye while I was passing them.
I would love to have scared the crap out of them in the (probably vain) hopes of teaching them a lesson.
The best potential drivers are pedestrians.

I wish the Peugeot 508 was sold in the states.
Wait, what? The highest group still scored below 100? How does that happen?
