The best dill pickles I ever had were from a deli in Squirrel Hill.

I know this thread will bring memes with sexual overtones.

Please try to keep those at a minimum.

I always loved dill pickles. My mother fed me sweet pickles and then bread and butter pickles and I gagged.

Refridgerator pickles-

don t care for any dill pickles that have garlic in them- can’t stand garlic- not even a little bit- most dill pickles seem to have it though-

Vlasic and Claussen are my go-to’s.

In fall I hit up the farmers market and make my own, but they’re gone fast.

On a related note, some potato salad recipes use pickle juice and taste great.

We get a brand of bread and butter pickles at Atwood’s called Amish Wedding, made somewhere in Ohio. Pretty good.

Momma was a pickle maker. Summer time the back porch had lots of earthenware crocks full of pickles and the pickle paddle Poppa made hanging by the window to keep them stirred.

Poppa was big on sweet corn to the point he had a kettle and fire in the garden to blanch it as soon as the ears came off the stalk and could be shucked. The horses waited by the fence for the shucks and also for the apple mash when it was cider making time.

I'm a Wickles guy...

Though I did try some Bubbies (Bread and Butter Chips) and really liked those as well.

The most amazing pickles are the one at our local Amish market! Dang they’re amazing-—Horseradish dill, Garlic and herb and old fashioned dill.

There are two food items I will have nothing to do with: Dill Pickles and Olives.

Always are Vlasic pickles growing up. One tried and true mixed drink was pickle juice and vodka

Unfortunately most of us are stuck with cukes obliterated with vinegar based brine. We don’t know a good full sour fermented pickle like at a good deli with a barrel of naturally fermented pickles. I loved them so much after living in Poland I learned how to make them myself and it is so easy I just make my own now.

I have to agree with the articles number one pick being Grillo’s. Our oldest son turned us on to them. He’s a food adventurer. Id never heard of them before but they really are excellent.

When I finish a jar of pickles I hard boil some eggs, peel them and stuff that jar of pickle juice. Soak for at least a couple of weeks and enjoy.
