I don’t have kids but if it were me I’d be more worried about a safe delivery and healthy baby. These types will be putting their babies all over social media for clout.

I don't think Free Republic puts out stats such as number of active users. It would be interesting to see however, what the trends have been. I get the impression that our user base is in decline. A lot of old timers here are dying off and not enough new new folk are replacing them.

to be honest the difficult folks here drive off quite a few.
I sadly see us fading away. And it worries me. the format is great, needs updating but great.
I learned so much here over the years. I miss many many. From the airline pilots who could disect crash within minutes to the DC insiders who had information, to the election day work and watching and intercepting that happened. And of course the Freeper Ball. And Rush.
All that is gone now. There are people who have made good on line friendships. but mostly we piddle in and piddle out.
Too much nastiness here however, as well as disdain for newcomers, that will drive many people away before they get "addicted" so to speak.
Id wager around 10% the daily unique posters now today 21 years later versus the halcyon days of huge influx from Bush/Gore election and 9-11
But we’re loyal those of us left and keep it going despite much lower users number and I’ve always supported Mr Thompson making a good living from here especially since he eschews ads and I know you have too

I agree. I was one of those who joined around the Bush/Gore/911 era and stayed on. The old forum and the old crowd from the early 2000s was very knowledgeable, but as you say, some were quite aggressive and demeaning back then too. One thing that has changed is that the ideological purity around the Bush cult which forced many out is gone. I am glad for that. This is still a very informative forum and the best source for conservative and traditionalist opinions out there. Hang in there.
