Women have been sharing TikTok videos of themselves doing their makeup from their labor-delivery room hospital beds
Some mothers appear to be getting their makeup done before the birth of their children, and the decision has stirred lots of discussion on social media.
On TikTok, entering the term "birthing makeup," "labor makeup" and "delivery makeup" yields dozens of viral videos that show women applying full faces of makeup from their hospital beds while they wait for their children to enter the world.
Reality TV star and media personality Heidi Montag, 36, went a step above and hired a professional makeup artist when she prepped for the birth of her son, Ryker Pratt, in November 2022, which she documented on TikTok

Such a millennial thing.
Let’s see, Heidi Montag is the mom, Ryder Pratt is the kid - wonder what the father’s name is? Dudley Dooright?
BINGO!! “Look at meeeeee!” Never mind the baby.
“how dare you slam women who wear make up like that?”
They slam themselves if they slather it on like whores. The ones that don’t probably won’t be offended by my statement.
I’m not really bothered at all by some white knight like you swooping into to try to defend their honor.
Does the “hoo hah” get some lip-liner and a trim also?
I heard of one woman who put on make up for her labor and delivery.
By the time she gave birth, it had all run and she had big black circles around her eyes where her mascara ran. Kind of back fired on her for looking good for pictures with a brand new baby.
My wife has very fast but intense deliveries. She takes a six pack of Miller Light and some Raisin Bran and a half gallon of milk. She says she gets ravenous thirst and hunger after giving birth. She goes from nesting in the morning to water breaking by noon, to baby wrapped in a blanket by 3:00.
I don’t dare discuss this with my wife. Even though it was almost 23 years ago, she’ll regale me with stories about how painful and difficult her last delivery was. (it was. The kid was almost 13 pounds delivered the normal way with no drugs)
Makeup was absolutely the last thing on her mind.
These women are narcissistic and insane
That's a keeper. Saved to my folder of treasures and wisdom.
My niece in law was mightily pissed that her husband sent out photos right after she gave birth and i don’t blame her.
I know another young mom who was pretty glammed up for the photos.
who is this bothering, really?
I became crazy cold, shivering completely to my core. A few extra blankets helped. I don’t remember being ravenous. I do agree that the faster the labor is, the more intense it is. My last one came quickly, but it was easily the most painful.
True, but even my millennial kids don’t like them. I think it may be a fad that’s on the way out. Don’t quote me though. Somebody is bound to want that party!
Yep, I know quite a few millennials who don’t do millennial things. I’m blessed to have a couple of them on my staff and several of my friends’ kids also fall into that category.
Those are the ones who were raised right. 😏
Having babies are now just another way to glorify yourself.
Ah well, it’s better than killing them.
Maybe.
“Baby gender reveal parties are stupid. I can’t stand those.
Such a millennial thing.”
Meaningless these days since half of them ‘trans’ anyway.
Quite a sweat they put out from the adrenaline and other hormones! Sweat actually pouring from them. And then yes, the shivers and shaking cold after delivery. Some dry blankets for my wife and she’s snapping the first beer and chomping on dry raisin bran. The sleep phase hits about four hours after delivery.
I could see a woman wanting to fix her makeup AFTER delivery before taking pics of her with the new baby.
Before delivery the makeup is just going to get smeared.
I hear it's pretty painful having a baby so I want to be prepared. This will be my first time.
Problems of a first world country
