"Brady's wife abandoned him."Poor Tom, all he wanted was to be away from his family for just a few more seasons so he can set some more meaningless records. The rest of the boys went home for dinner while Tommy sits on the curb under the streetlight thinking, "I wonder what the record is for staying out past bedtime?...

“This last season put on display that he is no longer the Tom Brady of old...”
The last season put on display the fact that Tampa Bay would not have won a single game without Brady. I was amazed he got them into the playoffs, a feat much harder than winning a superbowl.

Be fair, he didn’t have much of a supporting cast this year in Tampa. And he still got them to the playoffs.

You have it backwards…He abandoned his wife., Do we really know that? How do you know she wasn't cheating on him first? Nobody knows the real story of what happened between those two.

It’s the only life he’s known. His big passion. Plenty of people in other fields keep working until very late in life. Athletics is a different world.
I don’t think Miami should pick him up. He’s expensive and they’d have to blow up the team to fit his salary, and they’ve built a pretty solid unit.

I may FORGIVE, but I NEVER forget. I sat there, in a Packer-themed bar with a hundred other fans, having lunch and CRYING while he and the wife held that news conference announcing his retirement.
It was like your best boyfriend EVER breaking up with you!
Then, the b@stard goes to the Vikings? And the Jets?
I mean, why not twist the knife some more and join the Bears?
@#$%^&*!

I liked what I saw from Skylar Thompson against the Bills.

Geeze...he can't need the money and he must know that there’ll be no more rings. Hang it up,Tom.

I think he’d be a better fit in Vegas.

It is his job. Just like salesmen, roughneckers and military have to be away from home. Pro golfers have an even longer career.
If you want your husband around more, dumping him for a Jiu Jitsu instructor is a poor strategy.

For a 3rd string guy who clearly needed reps he did alright. And we know Tua is very good when healthy, health being the big problem there. They’ve got a good defense, good role players. Blowing all that up to fit Brady’s salary for a year or two would be a big mistake. That’s 3 or 4 years worth of good team building to get where they are, and it would take that long to get it back.

Going to work for six months per year is not abandoning your wife. She went to the mass media to complain as a pre-emptive strike. THAT was a guaranteed way to have a bad ending. Now she has her jiu jitsu instructor, and Tom Brady, who could have an army of gorgeous women banging down his door has not been credibly linked with any of them. Jay Cutler's wife left him when he retired from the NFL because he didn't have enough ambition. It sounds like they both married the wrong women.

Dolphins could make it work, but does Tua get released or is he willing to sit in the backup role for a year or two? Might be optimal for him, frankly. Meanwhile Teddy Bridgewater doesn't get another 1-year $10M contract. And he's
from Miami. Ouch. Although that helps the current $16M in salary cap space, might even be able to afford Gronk's return as 3rd-down specialist.
The other thing is Brady controls his own destiny in the AFC East. The Dolphins have a buttery soft schedule in 2024, he figures to pwn the Pats and the Jets, so if they win the head-to-heads with the Bills, the road is paved with gold, er, orange, aqua and blue.

If I’m a GM, I’d be happy to take Skylar Thompson off of the Dolphins’ hands. He’s the one with the most upside.
