False advertising. Lump those three small kids together plus the mom and half the dad would make a teenage boy’s meal.
Costco and Aldi, followed by Sam’s Club, then, good sales at any other supermarket.
That’s the order I’d encourage people to follow when purchasing food, unless you grow your own or can get it from someone locally for a good price.
I have 3 teenagers still at home. All in sports, highly active, teenage metabolisms through the roof. They eat like wolves. I drop $400+ a week easy.
It’s not as expensive when the kids are small like they are in this article.
Try feeding 3 teenagers that clear the fridge every 2 days.
Is it less expensive to cook? Yes, absolutely. We meal prep around here, too. But even homemade chicken quesadillas with lime rice and a salad is $22 for a family of 5 adults...and that’s just dinner!
I went to the local Walmart grocery earlier this week.
The Dems’ Inflation Reduction Act has NOT kicked in.
Prices on many items are still increasing.
How long is this ‘transitory’ going to last?
I don’t have the slightest idea what our monthly grocery bill is.
And that may work for one week. Tacos are junk food. Where's the Tuna fish. WHOLE milk. Not enough protein for 5 people.
No bugs. No impossible meat.
Quit bragging about how much money you have. 😂👍
Reminds me of an old book I used to have 55 years ago.
How To Feed Four for a $1.
She buys bottle marinara sauce and thinks she is thrifty?
You can make it for far less than the bottled crap.
Looking at the pile of food...I'd say she feeds them cr**.
I probably drop $120 A week on groceries for myself and Mr. GG2. But we like beef.
Her shopping strategy is right on. I always shop the ads and digital coupons and keep things on hand like canned tomatoes, onions, garlic, potatoes and canned soups. Yesterday a local grocery had bacon for $1.88 and Campbell soups 10 for $10. My wife and I stocked up and for less than $20 have a variety of meals. Being willing and able to cook from scratch helps a lot. My air fryer and automatic pressure cooker are mainstays in my kitchen and work well particularly when it’s just the two of us. Having the basics on hand and meat in the freezer allows us to be more spontaneous with our meals. Don’t forget to have a variety of seasonings on hand. Again I shop the ads and stock up when spices are on sale. Bay leaves, thyme, rosemary and mixed Italian herbs are good basics depending on your cooking style. Dollar stores sometimes have a surprising number of spices and herbs.
Lots of sodium in that picture.
I’ve been cooking from scratch most of my life, mom did, I polished my skills as a military stewburner (now their called culinary specialists) back in the day we were right up there with institutional cafeterias, but we butchered half sides, and did all the baking. Fresh foods lasted about 2 weeks and in port we served a mix of fresh and the ‘ol #10 cans.
The Philippino cooks could stretch a meal, picked up a lot of info off of their traditional & hybrid techniques.
Make me laugh....They’re al wearing NIKE sneakers. They’re not poor...just looking for 15 minutes.
Before Obama I could feed my family of 4 on about $150 a month.
I am a very frugal shopper and I cook with real ingredients.
After Obama my grocery bill became 350 a month.
Remember the “consumer price index”?? No mention of it during Obama.
No lard-butts in that family.
How unusual.
She is lying.
Not nearly enough for all of them.
