Baldwin gripped the pistol with his finger already pressing the trigger. When he pulled back the hammer, since the trigger was already pulled, the gun went off when he released the hammer, sort of fanner style
That’s the sort of gross negligence born out of gross ignorance.
I expect they will throw the Armorer under the bus. Criminal negligence resulting in a death. They should have a slam-dunk case and she is a nobody without a high-powered legal team to defend her.
They might go after the Assistant Director too. Some kind of misdemeanor firearms handling charge, in exchange for him testifying against the Armorer.
Baldwin will skate, of course. He has connections, a high-power legal team to defend him, and a plausible argument that it was not his job to ensure the safety of the firearm. By long-established industry standards, it was the Armorer's job. It's a thin argument, but it might work, and the District Attorney won't want to take any chances on losing that case.
I will enjoy checking back tomorrow to see if any of these predictions are correct.
An FBI forensic test of the single-action revolver that Baldwin was using found it ‘functioned normally’ and would not fire without the trigger being pulled...
So he is going to argue that they gave him a cocked
revolver ? Did he cock it? then he put it in a position
to fire .
We’ll all know if the money transfer went through ok, soon.
“I’m gonna guess no charges.”
I’m gonna guess you’re right.
Now, if it had you or me, instead of Baldwin, we’d have the book thrown at us.
Baldwin killed one person more than Derek Chauvin.
The check didn’t clear YET!?!?!?!?!
And Soros didn’t weigh in to tell his minion what to do???
NEW MEXICO LAW
Section 40-13-2. As used in the Family Violence Protection Act [40-13-1 NMSA 1978]: E. “firearm” means any weapon that will or is designed to or may readily be converted to expel a projectile by the action of an explosion or the frame or receiver of any such weapon.
Section 15-10-1. As used in this chapter, the following definitions shall apply: Carrying of a deadly weapon means being armed with a deadly weapon by having it on the person, or in close proximity thereto, so that the weapon is readily accessible for use.
Section 7-4-5. Domestic violence or abuse means the occurrence of or any attempt to cause one (1) or more of the following acts by the perpetrator:
(1) Any act that causes any bodily injury to or physical harm to another person; (8) Engaging in any conduct that constitutes an offense under the Laguna Law and Order Code towards a person defined as a victim in this chapter.

This makes it cut and dry. The responsibility for the harming of someone with the use of a firearm, on purpose or not, knowing it was loaded or not, is in the hands of the shooter, or perpetrator as defined in New Mexico State Law.

The FBI should have checked that when they reported that the revolver functioned properly.
They are just waiting for the Cayman accounts to be filled properly, then the memory hole will be used on the alleged shooting event...
I saw a report on the inspection of the gun somewhere on the net. They were unable to create a situation where the gun would fire without trigger pull. They disassembled it, inspected parts for wear, etc. the usual stuff.
Yeah...you’d think.
“But only one of them pointed it at a human being and fired it.”
Exactly. There was plenty of carelessness going on it seems, but only when you actually point the gun and pull the trigger are you entering “reckless endangerment” and “negligent homicide” territory, I think.
“They were unable to create a situation where the gun would fire without trigger pull. They disassembled it, inspected parts for wear, etc. the usual stuff.”
Ah, but they didn’t say “BANG!” after they pointed it. That’s probably the issue.
My thinking: There were six bullets in that revolver. Was one of them a live round? Were all of them live rounds? If it was just one of them, how would it be that the live round would be in position to go off when the trigger was pulled? Someone has to position it so it would fire when the trigger was pulled. Someone wanted it to go off and make it look like an accident. Someone wanted Halyna Hutchins killed to keep her quiet from revealing an affair that would destroy a marriage.
“Or it’ll be some minor procedural charge.”
yeah, probably something like mishandling a self-shooting firearm ...
The shooter, Alec Baldwin, claims it was accidental but it could have been intentional, whether he loaded live ammunition into the gun or, as director, he had someone else do it.
So in 11 minutes 2 hours we will hear that Alec is not being charged?
Alex Baldwin to be charged with involuntary manslaughter.
I sure got that prediction wrong. I thought he would skate entirely.
My faith in the criminal justice system is now totally restored. Well, maybe not. But it seems like a step in the right direction.
The Ukrainian parents and sister of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins filed a lawsuit on Thursday against Alec Baldwin and the producers of “Rust” in connection with her death in October 2021.
Attorney Gloria Allred announced the lawsuit at a press conference at her office on Thursday morning.
