The Biden Administration’s Department of Education (ED) has launched an investigation into a school district in Texas after the school banned several sexually explicit books.
As reported by Breitbart, the investigation is being led by the ED’s Office for Civil Rights, which claims that such a ban amounts to a failure to provide representation for “LGBTQ” characters, which the ED says can be considered discrimination.
The investigation into Granbury Independent School District comes after the far-left American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) complained about the district’s book bans over the summer. The district banned at least 130 books from its school libraries, with about 75 percent of the books in question being declared too sexually inappropriate.
The ACLU claimed that such a ban is discrimination against gays and other sexually abnormal preferences, which falls under the category of Title IX discrimination after the Biden administration redefined the rule to include sexuality, in addition to race.
“The book removals and also the comments create this pervasively hostile environment,” ACLU spokeswoman Chloe Kempf falsely declared. “Both send a message to the entire community that LGBTQ identities are inherently obscene, worthy of stigmatization — and the book removals uniquely deprive LGBTQ students of the opportunity to read books that reflect their own experiences.”
However, the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty’s Will Flanders disagreed with this assessment, saying that the matter does not “require federal intervention,” as it’s simply “a question about books in schools, not about individual rights being violated.”
If Biden’s ED ultimately agrees with the ACLU-backed challenge, then the school district could be forced to put all of the banned books back onto the shelves. The school would most likely appeal such a decision, which would most likely take the case all the way to the Supreme Court for a final verdict.
Can you still say groomers?
It should be clear by now that homosexual practices are a matter of personal choice.
It is a lifestyle, and one which any school board is well entitled to disapprove, and certainly one which no school board should advocate.
Texas Governor Abbott should send the Fed DoE packing out of his state. Any chance of that?
When government becomes your enemy
Gotta get that CRT in their heads. Can’t have enough hatred of white people.
A ban on pornography fails to provide representation to sex workers. A ban on child pornography fails to provide representation for "minor attracted persons." A ban on how to build bombs fails to provide representation to terrorists. A ban on instructions for incendiary devices fails to provide representation to arsonists.
If democrats weren't so completely pre-occupied with perversions, sex, and bodily functions, we wouldn't even be having this discussion.
Remember not many years ago when the perverts said "Leave us alone in the privacy of our bedrooms. Government out of our bedrooms. We just want to be left alone. There is no slippery slope."
Now the perverts are INSIDE the government run libraries and schools and we cannot pry them out. Any effort to keep their perversions away innocent children is a "failure to provide XYZ."
Perverts OUT of the Public Square. Perverts OUT of schools. Perverts OUT of government.
“Texas Governor Abbott should send the Fed DoE packing out of his state. Any chance of that?”
Not if he wants to retain access to his bank accounts and credit cards.
Simple solution. Close school libraries. I loved going to the school library but since they have become a target in the culture wars maybe it is time to close them. Perhaps stocking them with textbooks and school supplies.
“claims that such a ban amounts to a failure to provide representation for “LGBTQ” characters, which the ED says can be considered discrimination”
Sorry, but fictional characters are not real people, and you can only make discrimination claims if real people are discriminated against.
We have a pervert who thinks he is President...
“The district banned at least 130 books from its school libraries, with about 75 percent of the books in question being declared too sexually inappropriate.”
But the GOVERNMENT thinks they ARE APPROPRIATE????
The Dept. of Education has no Constitutional authority.
Any ruling they make is a good opportunity to neuter them.
Groomers are now protected by the Biden administration, as a protected class. I never in all my days believed we would live in a world where the WH protects and promotes child molesters
isnt the current resident one?
yes
Sexual abuse ( carnal knowledge) towards minors
is not a civil right Joe
ya groomer,
it’s a crime.
What’s next Joe ?
Gonna sic the DOJ on anyone who won’t let you shower with their preteen daughter ?
Simple solution. Post a sign on the library door saying:
“One percent of the fictional characters were born a different gender than the author portrays them to be.”
Keep the sexually explicit books locked in the school incinerator.

Regarding the constitutionally undefined Education Department, why aren't federal and state MAGA Republicans pointing out the following?
President Thomas Jefferson, in a State of the Union address, also Justice Joseph Story, had both indicated that the states have never expressly constitutionally given the feds the specific power to dictate, regulate, tax and spend in the name of INTRAstate schooling.
“The great mass of the articles on which impost is paid is foreign luxuries, purchased by those only who are rich enough to afford themselves the use of them. Their patriotism would certainly prefer its continuance and application to the great purposes of the public education, roads, rivers, canals, and such other objects of public improvement as it may be thought proper to add to the constitutional enumeration of federal powers [emphasis added].” —Thomas Jefferson: 6th Annual Message, 1806." (Jefferson is indicating that Congress cannot tax and spend in the name of intrastate infrastructure imo.)
"The power to regulate manufactures is no more confided to congress, than the power to interfere with the systems of education, the poor laws, or the road laws of the states [emphasis added]." —Justice Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 2, 1833.
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.
With all due respect to Freeper parents, if parents were making sure that their public and private schools were reinforcing what parents are teaching their children about the federal government's constitutionally limited powers as clarified by Jefferson and Story, then school children would be able to remind their parents concerning unconstitutional Biden ED bullying.
Any so-called “federal” funding that the corrupt federal government may threaten schools with the loss of for banning activist books is arguably state revenues that should never have left the state in the first place.
More specifically, the very corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification feds steal state revenues by means of unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes that Congress cannot reasonably justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
Getting back to MAGA Republicans, what lawmakers also need to do is to help "street-fighter" Trump 47 finish draining the swamp by doing the following.
Regarding state revenues stolen by the feds, what MAGA-controlled House desparately needs to introduce a resolution for Congress to propose an amendment to the Constitution to the states that is strictly limited to repealing the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th Amendments (popular voting for federal senators) (16&17A), little or ideally no discussion required for such an amendment imo.
Repealing 16&17A would effectively "secede" ALL the states from the unconstitutionally big federal government imo.
Although such a resolution is doomed with gridlocked Congress (where are the states?), what patriots initially get out of a repeal 16&17A resolution is seeing more masks fall off remaining RINO lawmakers who vote against the resolution that patriots can primary in 2024.
Biden Administration dismantle America list must be a long one.
