Ukraine must win the war against Russia in order to ensure that a message is sent to the world that there is nothing to gain from invading other nations, the Prime Minister of Finland said on Tuesday.
Speaking with journalist Fareed Zakaria at the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos, Prime Minister Sanna Marin explained that while she doesn't know when the war will end, "we have to make sure than when it ends Ukrainians win."

They were conducting ethnic cleansing in the eastern regions that refused to follow the coup. They used Nazi militias and heavy weaponry to do so. Those religions declared independence and asked Russia for help.
This is exactly what we did in Serbia for Kosovo. What goes around comes around.
NATO shouldn’t exist anyways so it doesn’t matter who is President. It needs to be disbanded
I’ve read the back and forth for months on this site.
First off I think our government is shit and I don’t trust it at all in foreign affairs.
But I have dealt with bullies all my life and they don’t ever want mess with me after it is done even if I lose, which was often the case. Russia is being a bully as is China.
The USA is no saint either. All need a slap down. In the modern day war is bad, since we are capable of destroying all societies as we know them. Pandoras box has been opened.
I’m not a pacifist, I’m proud of my military service. I’d gladly destroy the entire society of any country that threatens mine. A strong defense is good. I would NOT do things half assed. That is weakness.
This is a civil war and Russia likely will win, but we want to be sure Russia will never do it again. Loss of men, military resources, lowered population growth rate, lack of trade with dynamic nations and its own border concerns. May be enough.

It’s not Sweden that’s the Finland’s membership its Turkey!
All Sweden & Finland have to do is sell out the Kurds. All the NATO members have done that.
Finland and Sweden fearing Russian aggression so much that they are now seeking to join up with NATO for safety and survival says a lot.
This is a huge indicator of the seriousness of the Russian plans and long-term goals.
Sweden won’t return the terrorists back to Turkey...so Turkey continues to prevent both Sweden and Finland from entering NATO.
Sucks for them. Probably should have consulted Turkey first, to see if they were ok with harboring terrorists.

I must have missed something: When did NATO aggress Russia, such that Russia felt compelled to prevent any further aggression from NATO?
By your logic, Russia is punishing Ukraine for something Russia claims NATO did, and Ukraine is not now and never has been a member of NATO.
I guess maybe it makes sense in Russia-speak.

Do you mean the Minsk agreement that called for Russia to withdraw from eastern Ukraine, but it refused to do so? That one?

Sweden is not yet in NATO (and if Turkey and Hungary get their way, it never will be), so it has no say one way or the other as to Finland’s acceptance into NATO.
