Cowboys Sink Buccaneers In Wild Card Matchup To Advance In NFL Playoffs. What Will Tom Brady Do Next?
Daily Caller ^ | January 17, 2023 6:44 AM ET | SETH ROY CONTRIBUTOR

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were eliminated from the postseason Monday night after being crushed by the Dallas Cowboys, 31-14.

The win sends the Cowboys to San Francisco to play against the 49ers in the divisional round of the playoffs.

The Cowboys’ win was huge but the bigger story to come from this game seems to be centered around Tom Brady. The 45-year-old may have played in the final game of his legendary football career.

When the seven-time Super Bowl champion jogged off the field, he tipped his cap to the crowd as to say “thank you.” He then stopped by his parents to give them both a kiss.

In the post-game press conference, Brady thanked the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization and their fans for making him feel welcomed and respected when he joined them. He also expressed his appreciation to the members of the press for the work they do covering the sport.

The way I see it, Brady was motioning final goodbyes to the Tampa Bay fans, their media members and perhaps to the game of football for the last time.

Considering his NFL resume, I don’t see any reason for him to return for a 24th season. According to NBC Sports, Brady is already the holder of multiple NFL records.

To name a few, Brady is the NFL’s leader in:

Quarterback wins (251)

Passing touchdowns (649)

Passing yards (89,214)

Completions (7,753)

Division titles (19)

Pro Bowl selections (15)

Super Bowl victories (7)

Super Bowl MVP’s (5)

Super Bowl appearances (10)

I believe Brady is undoubtedly the greatest quarterback of all time. His accolades speak for themselves. If he were to step away from the game, he would, of course, be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

With nothing else left to prove, I believe Brady’s next logical move would be to join the Fox Sports broadcast team. Last May, Brady agreed to a 10-year contract worth over $375 million with Fox to become their lead NFL analyst. For the kind of money he’ll get in broadcasting and after accomplishing all there is to accomplish as an NFL player, I think he’ll finally ride off into the sunset.

If I were to bet, I would say that his playing career is over and that he’s going to Fox. That said, no one knows what’s next except for him. Time will tell for #12.

Yes. I don’t see Brady as a commentator. He just doesn’t seem to have that verve, or excitement that Tony Romo has.

Course, he’d immediately be better than Aikman, who only parrots what ever Buttboy Buck says.

My son doesn’t like Olsen at all, but Olsen is really good on receivers and the passing game.

You can name the great color commentators on one hand. Dan Fouts was horrible. I think they tried Booger McFarland and he was horrible. I always liked Bob Trumpy, but for some reason NBC didn’t and dropped him not long after the Cowboys/Bills super bowl.

He also missed the last PAT in the Washington game the week before.

You can’t tell me that it won’t affect him against the 49ers. Not only that, it will affect the play calling when the Cowboys are in FG range. They passed up a relatively short FG on 4th and 4, and got the touchdown.

“ Biggest cheer of the night was when Brett Maher finally made a PAT.

I would have left him in Tampa and signed a new kicker this week

Correct - means he missed 5 extra points in a row! I’ve never heard of such a thing his head is messed up he’s FUBAR

I would have left him in Tampa

I don’t know if they can get a new kicker at this point. Seems like they’re stuck with him.

Watching a teammate being taken off the field on a stretcher/board (especially in the last few minutes of a blow-out loss), at his age and with nothing else to prove in professional football, Brady should seriously consider retiring while he’s healthy.

“ After getting cleaned-out by the crypto-currency scamster, he’ll need to work a few more years for a decent retirement. Heh...

He’ll endorse anything for money without knowing a thing about it. Lawsuits have been filed against him too. He deserves it

He's faded into Colin Kapernick territory.Hopefully he didn't lose too much in his bitcoin deal...and who knows how much he lost to his ex. Even if he only has $10 million left he can live well on that. I know I could.

How does the Dallas kicker miss 4 PATs????

And, what's he going to do next year?

He still got them to the playoffs, albeit with a losing record, and let’s face it, that’s not a good team he has around him.

At his age, I was already planning my retirement...

People who excel at something (athletes) or are provided royalty treatment (politicians) have a hard time walking away and becoming just another unrecognized guy at the bar getting kicked out at closing.
