Have More Athletes Really Died Suddenly Since Covid-19 Vaccines Arrived?
Forbes ^ | 1/16 | Bruce Y. Lee

Posted on 01/16/2023 3:25:17 PM PST by nickcarraway

If you are going to claim that more athletes have been suffering cardiac arrests and dying over the past two years, you had better sport some real numbers. Some real legitimate verifiable numbers. But that’s not what Tucker Carlson did on his FOX News show “Tucker Carlson Tonight” when he made such a claim. Instead of real numbers, he mentioned a letter. One letter. One letter to the editor of a medical journal to be exact.

But Carlson didn’t even specify that it was a letter in the episode of this show. The episode came after Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin’s had suffered a cardiac arrest. Carlson, who is not a professional athlete, not a professional medical doctor, and not a professional scientist, suggested that there’s been a trend of more athletes suffering cardiac arrest. He asserted that “cardiologist Peter McCullough and researcher Panagis Polykretis looked into this trend in Europe, European sports leagues. They found that prior to Covid and the Covid-19 vaccines there were roughly 29 cardiac arrests in those European sports leagues per year.” Carlson went on to claim, “Since the vax campaign began, there have been more than 1,500 total cardiac arrests in those leagues and two-thirds of those were fatal.”

Hmm, does this sound like McCullough, a cardiologist who was not really known as an infectious disease expert or a public health researcher before the pandemic, and Polykretis, a biologist, actually conducted a real scientific study? Maybe even a peer-reviewed study? It looks like they didn’t, though, and instead all they did was write a letter to the editor published in the Scandinavian Journal of Immunology. It doesn’t take much to write a letter to the editor for such a journal. You have to be able to write, which may rule out some kids below

Wouldn’t Bruce Lee writing in Forbes be sort of a blog? Or in a publication that early on touted the efficacy of vaccines to prevent infection, just sort of an advertisement?

Forbes, HOW MANY of the articles that you produced were ever Peer-reviewed?

I guess propaganda doesn’t need peer reviewed.

We didn’t need to be scientists to know masks were garbage and we don’t need to be scientists to see that people are dropping off suddenly.

Data14 compiled by the International Olympic Committee show 1,101 sudden deaths in athletes under age 35 between 1966 and 2004, giving us an average annual rate of 29 sudden deaths, across all sports. Meanwhile, between March 2021 and March 2022 alone — a single year — at least 769 athletes have suffered cardiac arrest, collapse, and/or have died on the field, worldwide.15
Among EU FIFA (football/soccer ball) athletes, sudden death increased by 420% in 2021.

Good Sciencing, which is keeping a running total of athletic deaths post-jab puts the current number of cardiac arrests at 1,090 and total deaths at 715.16 Several dozen more are pending confirmation that the athlete had in fact received the shot.

Among EU FIFA (football/soccer ball) athletes, sudden death increased by 420% in 2021.17 Historically, about five soccer players have died while playing the game each year. Between January and mid-November 2021, 21 FIFA players died from sudden death.

I don’t know but before covid, young people dying on a sports field were few and far between.

The comments to the article suggest the real tenor to the whole topic. If the comments were “editor,” this article would not have been published. While complaining about others, Lee cites NO hard data as refutation. Such is the nature of this moment in the larger “event” which is all media all the time.

Read the comments.

So--In the first three paragraphs (The part you excerpted), I found at least two logical errors on the part of Forbes:

Carlson, who is not a professional athlete, not a professional medical doctor, and not a professional scientist, suggested that there’s been a trend of more athletes suffering cardiac arrest.

They are correct that Carlson is none of those three professions. However, none of those three professions have anything to do with statistics or numbers, which is what he was talking about.

Hmm, does this sound like McCullough, a cardiologist who was not really known as an infectious disease expert or a public health researcher before the pandemic...

Again--McCullough was talking about cardiac arrests--not infectious disease.

Forbes was very skillful in smearing two people by telling us who they are NOT. Forbes did nothing to tell us why they are wrong.

I love how his critique of Tucker for not using hard verifiable numbers, is the same critique that could be used against him on his rebuttal. He doesn't use any hard numbers to show that this has been happening since before the "vaccine" rollout for Covid.

Bruce Y. Lee is nothing more than a propaganda spreader, and may even be a Covid spreader.

Who the hell is Bruce Y. Lee and why should anyone give a damn?

Bruce needs to listen to Dr. Naomi Wolf, Ed Dowd, and a dozen others that are orders of magnitude sharper than Whiney Bruce.

Much as I respect PM, I was disappointed to hear him say he has “never in my life been a Trumper,” when some editorial page attacked for just that. His biography, as I’ve heard it in bits and pieces in his America Outloud show, reveals him to have been a low-key member of the establishment right up through the early days of 2020
