You may be right about that. They are very devious, and most people would probably rather eat plants than bugs.
Not sure, but the vegans might have pulled another fast one when they misnamed certain food items. For example, I can picture a diner in some restaurant in Africa sitting down and ordering some genuine elephant ears, and instead of getting the real thing, he gets served either vegan leaves, or vegan pastries.

The claims of lower resource usage are dubious. Fact is insect protein is 2x-3x the prices of other sources, whether soy protein or fish meal. They need to underprice soy, since soy is vegan, whereas mealworms are not only not vegan, they also come with an ick factor.
https://www.feednavigator.com/Article/2021/02/24/Demand-for-insect-protein-could-hit-500-000-tons-by-2030
[High costs and thus high prices are also limiting the demand for insect protein. The price of insect protein today ranges between €3,500 (US$4,250) and €5,500 (US$6,066) per metric ton, which is significantly higher than fishmeal and soy protein. Fishmeal prices historically mirror the volatilities in supply - in the last five years, they have moved from US$1,200 to US$2,000 per metric ton, reads the industry note.]

I remember watching Men in Black (MIB) as they picked up the tabloids to find the real news. That was supposed to be funny. Now compare this link to the Babylon Bee article.
Beetleburgers could soon reach mass production — helping to feed the world

If I follow the logic of popular articles, I have no problem arriving at the point of the below article. Maybe not Arby’s, but another outlet could be successful in the Pearl District of Portland, Oregon with such a menu.

Then I hope the rich and those who want to eat this, enjoy it. I won’t be partaking. The chitin in these things is going to cause serious digestive problems and nutritional deficiencies in people overall, and especially cause serious problems in people with shellfish allergies.

Absolutely sick, what I’d like to see is that all of the owners and employees of these companies are eating solely their product. One, can they do it. 2, will they do it again. Anyone promoting this, needs to prove that they are actually eating it.

I’ll stick with beef, personally, but as long as it isn’t more efficient because governments are subsidizing the heck out of it, let it work out. Some folks might find that stuff mighty tasty.
My opinion: You may eat ze boogs, if you want. But not “you VILL eat ze boogs.”
To: Drew68
Never buy any kind of prepared food. Hard to mix bugs into a steak, an egg, a carrot, a potato, an apple. etc. I’ve been eating that way all my life. Hate to cook, so just steam potatoes and veggies, scramble eggs, buy fresh apples and berries. Organic preferable.
