I was surprised to learn something recently about the topic of this thread.
A friend of mine reported that he tried some locally bought (at a smoke shop) delta 8 gummies. Though delta 8 is a supposedly milder form with delta 9 being the regular, stronger stuff, my friend reported to me that, after 1 gummie (100mg), he was too stoned to drive (he was at home though). This guy also said he hasn't smoked a joint in many years and never takes even over-the-counter drugs unless his doctor insists. He said he ate this gummie more as a lark than because he thought would actually feel anything. He described his experience as possibly a little too "strong."
The bottom line from this report is that pot is now basically legal in 30 states...even in some states with very strict pot laws. This means that anyone can waltz into a smoke shop and walk away with a container of completely legal potent ingestibles.
Do youse guys know anything about this? What are your thoughts?
If I understand it correctly, delta 10 is legal in all 50 states.
Ok that makes more sense. Thats the total package. Individual pieces are typically 10mg or 12.5mg.
But if ate them all, its no wonder it knocked him on his ass.
Hmmm........ one wonders. Can you then pass an employment drug test?
And why they are handing out all kinds of free samples. My friend claims this is exactly why... And now he is mad because even the weed is starting to taste the same and do the same. He doesn’t like it at all.
This really needs to be investigated. But... Probably not going to happen because it works in the government’s best interests to further their agenda.
I don't know anything about this stuff.
I take delta 8. I use gummies as well as vape to alleviate symptoms from my arthritis. I love it. It relaxes me and is a great substitute for the Vicodin I was eating like candy.
I’m in my mid 50s and partook in smoking pot when I was younger. With the aches and pains of being on the upper most part of the other side of the hill my friend said I should try the gummies or a vape cartridge for those pains when working my property. I may take hum up on the offer next time I break my tractor and need to work on it. It takes me days to recover from that.
Personally as far as pot is concerned I’d rather hang out with someone that’s high than a drunk.
I probably will never work for anyone who tests after I retire next year but I am probably OK because it doesn’t process through the liver
The concern seems to be that products are being tampered and just being passed around without being in original packaging. I noticed one case where it looks like there was an attempt to re-seal the packaging (of Gummy Bears).
Better than buying a bottle of Jack Daniels and drinking it?
I think it was called soma in A Brave New World.
Wow!
100 mg is a little strong to start with.
Very well could be and makes sense. But I wouldn’t put it past the commercial outfits to follow suit at some point also.
My doctor recommended I try CBD for some permanent issues from chemo. I went and read the FedGov opinion and it’s considered just like MJ and a person can lose a security clearance and fail drug screens. So I cannot use any of those products without some risk. My employer would not take kindly to loss of a clearance no matter the reason. I will try when i retire or the FedGov changes the interpretation of the laws.
I worked in HR and applicants who failed the drug tests (pot included) would not be hired.
But now that pot has been legalized here in Michigan, I'm wondering if it has changed the hiring policies of companies utilizing drug testing.
Employment law may have changed, prohibiting companies from discriminating against pot users but there are ways that the company can avoid being accused of discrimination against potential new hires.
Thank-you, I have it in right elbow and wrist (where I had surgery) both knees and left foot. I’ve tried CBD oil, but it doesn’t seem to do much. I use oil capsules for sleep and it’s been a life saver. They are more effective than sleeping pills with no negative side effects. I still smoke it on occasion, especially if company also enjoys. It feels like the good old days :-)
Mid 60s here, I need it to sleep.
If the commercial outfits are being run like companies, they won't taint their product with something that can kill their customers. The liability is too large. One case would kill the company. Even an unfounded accusation would do significant damage.
These companies are already on pins and needles about what the FDA is going to do with regard to their products. As I understand it, so far, the FDA has done nothing but issue some general public warnings.
This is derived from hemp, not cannabis. That is why it is legal in most states.
