I still have flashbacks about Holly’s fatal injury. Hank & Holly were a team and I guess it’s only fitting that they left us within a week of each other.
I cried when I buried them. My eyes are watering now as I type my reply... Their graves are down the hill from our home under a mott of live oaks next to the pond they enjoyed swimming in.
I was speaking more of Australian shepherds and like dogs. Border Collies is a breed I dont have much experience with but that Shepherd! My daughter had one for about 10 years and she bit me at least 4 times!
I went out to a farm once when I worked for a Case tractor dealership, to a dairy. When I got there there were Aussie Shepherds everywhere, and signs saying to not leave your vehicle. A man came out and called the dogs off at which time they just laid down and paid me no attention. Went into the mans office and on the wall was a Lancaster SC car tag and it was full of tooth holes. I asked about it and the man said them dogs took it off the front bumper of a county mans car and chewed it up like that!
I had my girl cremated and her little box sits by my bedside. she’s always with me. Thank you for your wonderful message. Regards, Janey

They do like to nip at people. I just think they are a little over protective of their owners.
Dogs should live longer than humans,,,,
