By far the most important difference is the constitutional distinction in the statuses of the two men at the center of this two-pronged saga: Donald Trump was president of the United States, while Joe Biden was merely vice president of the United States during the time that he absconded with classified documents.
That distinction may not seem like a big deal, but from a constitutional perspective, it makes all the difference in the world. The president of the United States alone is vested by Article II of the U.S. Constitution with the "executive Power" of the national government. This prosaic textual truism forms the crux of what constitutional lawyers -- who, being lawyers, make things seem more complicated than they really are -- refer to as "unitary executive theory." The vice president of the United States, in fact, possesses no more "executive Power" than does a Cabinet official, a White House janitor, or even a reader of this column.
The upshot is that, as this column argued after August's Mar-a-Lago raid, "Trump had unilateral, plenary authority to declassify any document that he wanted to declassify -- period." Biden possessed no such similar power (he does now, as president). Furthermore, as the same August column argued, "all ex-presidents receive various taxpayer-funded accoutrements, among them a staff with security clearances and secure facilities (SCIFs) for the maintenance of classified records." Biden, as an ex-vice president and not an ex-president, had no such niceties; he merely had a garage with a lock secure enough for his Corvette. What's more, the Presidential Records Act also permits departing presidents to take personal copies of any of their records; the statute affords no such similar protection for departing vice presidents.

From conversations on War Room, Susan Rice (remember her??) is ensconced in the WH & calling shots .... the leaks are to keep FJB from announcing a run in 2024 so the candidate running will be someone “they” want ... FJB isn’t ‘it’ this time around. Personally, I think it will be Newsom, but my skin crawls at the sight of him, much less thinking of him anywhere near the White House. To me, the play would be get rid of FJB*, stick Kamala in there with Newsom as VP. Kamala could be disposed of .... she has no backing & then Newsom would be running as the VP “incumbent”. Just my 2 cents.
*Did you know that if convicted under the government documents act that applies to FJB as a government employee, part of the punishment could be removal from whatever government office he is holding? An “impeachment” of sorts without having to go through Congress. Veeerrry interesting. The left plays hardball/smash mouth - I can see them doing this to get Kamala/Newsom in place for 2024. Dr. Jill would be madder than a wet hen - she likes being ‘first lady’.
Obama may be implicated in this as well if they want the truth. He allowed Biden to set up all these $$$ deals when he was VP.
My guess, this is the first step to oust that ole White demented man who is hurting the party.
Kamala will step in and serve two years as the first female President of color and for the rest of her life she will cash in huge on that and the Dems will get who they want to run in 2024.

Why would the deep state want to get rid of Biden? They installed him a mere 2 years ago.

I suspect it is too late for the RATS to remove Joe and install the VP. As the incumbent Harris would be the presumptive candidate in 2024 and she would be a drag on the party. Sometime this year “for health reasons” or “to spend more time with family,” Biden will announce he is not running in 2024. Opens the door for younger candidates like Newsome, Cooper and Pritzker.
In typical DNC/Deep State fashion, expect more ‘discoveries’ every 2 or 3 days until Biden resigns. The implications are that they will tank Biden and try to also tank Trump as ‘both’ having breached archive protocall, and be banned from running for office in the future. Then they will promote Kamala or whomever they have designated as the “Man”.
