San Francisco 49ers rookie quarterback and Mr. Irrelevant, the last guy in the 2022 NFL draft, is a firm believer and not afraid to state his case.

The 49ers will battle the Seattle Seahawks this Saturday at 4:30 and Brock Purdy is getting ready to play in his very first playoff game in just his first year in the league – even better, he’s the starting quarterback!
When the 49ers first string starting quarterback Jimmy Garappolo went down with an injury this year, it was Brock Purdy stepped in. After he delivered a decent performance, and has been playing fairly well ever since, he gave a very interesting quote that stated his beliefs as firm and strong as ever. Brock Purdy said: “You go out there, you prepare as best you can, you get better every single day at practice, and once you get your opportunity, man, it’s what are you going to do with it? For me, I believe in the Lord, and I trust in Him. I just go out there, and I just play, you know?”
When asked about being Mr. Irrelevant in the NFL draft, Purdy responded with class:
“Definitely, I think there’s always been an edge to myself,” Purdy said Thursday. “People, they make a joke out of it [being Mr. Irrelevant] and whatnot, and it’s all fun and games in terms of taking the trip and meeting great people and that kind of thing, but for myself, I’ve always believed that I don’t care what slot, what round, what pick that I get picked or if I was undrafted.
“My whole thing was, man, I just want to go out and prove to myself that I can play at this level. And so that’s always been my mentality.”
And now that the 49ers are heading into the playoffs this weekend, it’s clear that everyone paying attention to the NFL this year now knows. And what a season it has been! All the woke nonsense is gone and the football games this year have been great. The 49ers defense is NASTY and the offense has so many strong players like Kittle, Deebo, Aiyuk, and McCaffrey – so if Brock can manage the game, then the Niners should handle the Seahawks with ease. But as you know, there’s the concept of ‘any given Sunday (or Saturday)’ and any team can pull off a win.
As an Eagles fan, I’ll have this weekend off from cheering for my favorite team, but I’ll be watching the playoffs to see who the Philadelphia Eagles face in Philly since they have a first week bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
The road to victory may be through Philly this year, hopefully, but for Brock Purdy, an alumni of Iowa State University – it’s through his strong beliefs of the Lord.
NFL Ping!..............
Playing better than “fairly well.” He’s killing it.
If he makes the Superbowl and wins, he’ll be set for life!...............
He was incredible at Iowa State.
I am pretty sure the Lord stays out of these kinds of things.
And I don’t think even He will be any help for the cowgirls.
I'm pretty sure He doesn't, although the aspects that are important to us (such as who wins and who loses) might not reach the top of His priorities.
Great for him.
As a Hawks fan, I just hope they burst this guy’s bubble on Saturday. But he is playing really well.
The 49ers have won most of their games against teams with losing records. They are 2-1 againt teams with winning records - Chargers and Dolphins (wins) and Chiefs (loss). Against the Chiefs, the got creamed. I think the 49ers are over-rated and it would not surprise me to see them get bounced early on in the playoffs.
