Rooney gave the update on the NFL player's condition to ESPN on Wednesday and noted Hamlin remains sedated. His update comes after Rob Butler, Hamlin's agent, told ESPN on Tuesday night that Hamlin's oxygen levels had improved.
Hamlin, 24, is in the intensive care unit at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was transported after he went into cardiac arrest on the field during the first quarter of the Bills' Monday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The safety collapsed following his tackle of Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, and CPR was administered to Hamlin before an ambulance arrived.

“When life is on the line the woke crap goes out.”
I guess you missed the last three years — when “woke” trumped keeping people alive every single day.
There has been to much media attention paid to this issue. And it is embarrassing.
+1
If they have reduced his oxygen 50%, it seems that must mean he has some capability. It will only be 48 hours since the injury tonight , through personal experience, the docs maintain life saving procedures, do scans for brain swelling, pneumonia, heart damage etc. keep the patient sedated, allowing the body to begin healing during the critical seventy-two hour period If they are able to reduce oxygen to just a low maintenance level, then they start deciding when they will discontinue sedation and see what they get. As an example, he might be able to completely breathe on his own and be off sedation, but he might still have brain damage. From our experience, it was a wait, test and see. It all turned out great for our son and i know exactly what this family is going through, prayers to them.
Well there is the explanation. Hope he makes it through without brain damage. It’s not that I follow this guy or even know anything about football but seems a bit of hard luck on the guy.
Thanks for the answer.
Some are arguing it is something else. We will not know until an announcement is made, if we know then.
Especially when in front of40,000 people and the cameras rolling.😉
I think that he was receiving CPR immediately, and between that and the AED, it took them 9 minutes to get his heart restarted. It wasn’t just CPR the whole time. They had him so surrounded, and then a “tent” over him. The ambulance was on the field about 4 or 5 minutes into it.
Last sentence…
Glenn said there were some encouraging signs, such as doctors lowering the level of oxygen Hamlin needs from 100% to 50%.
“He’s still sedated right now,” Glenn told CNN. “They just want him to have a better chance of recovering better. So, they feel that if he’s sedated, his body can heal a lot faster than if he was woke and possibly cause other complications.”
According to Glenn, Hamlin is now “flipped over on his stomach” in the hospital to help with the blood in his lungs.
“Doctors said that Damar is on his stomach to help take the pressure off the lungs, so they don’t have to work as hard,” Glenn said.
Glenn went on to say that the next step is to get Hamlin, who is still sedated on a ventilator, to breathe on his own.“

Pride is a motivating force.
“Since he’s in ICU they can’t do a brain scan in a MRI”
well, they CAN do an EEG to see if brain wave activity ...
Stew Peters tonight has two interesting interviews on the Hamlin situation:
It wasn’t a hard hit. I do not believe that for a moment. That is the official narrative.
The hit does not have to be exceptionally hard. People are going to believe what they will, at this point. If they had come out right away, perhaps the explanation would have “took”.
Nope. This is impacting them personally. Hence the prayer.
What do his brain scans look like? My brother had a stroke, heart never stopped. He just seemingly went to sleep. Less than 12 hrs later his wife had them shut off all support, which was O2 support. The key thing was brain activity.
If they are not mentioning this, it is very likely the kid is brain damaged or dead already. They just have endless $$$$’s and the NFL’s possible guilt for perceived culpability driving the delay of the inevitable.
I don’t want that to be true, I would love for Hamlin to come back and tear the Covid policies to shreds, or just get back to his family.
If wishes were horses we would all ride.
👍🏻👍🏻

Hit by pitch, especially to a young person is VERY dangerous. I knew 2 people in my small town who died after being hit in the rib cage by a pitched baseball. One was 12 years old the other 16. I knew no one who died on a football field. A 7th grade classmate blew up his heart while jogging during PE though.
No further word on Hamlin’s condition this morning.
None that I could find..................
