Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting, who starred in 1968's Romeo and Juliet, filed a lawsuit against Paramount for child abuse over a nude scene in the film.
Per Deadline, Hussey and Whiting filed the lawsuit in Santa Monica Superior Court on Jan. 3, accusing Paramount of sexual exploitation and the distribution of nude images of underage children. Now in their 70s, both actors were teenagers at the time they starred in the film; Hussey, who played Juliet, was 15 and Whiting, who played Romeo, was 16. The actors are seeking damages of over $100 million. "believed to be in excess of $500 million."
Based on William Shakespeare's iconic play of the same name, Romeo and Juliet was nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards at the time of its release. Directed by Franco Zeffirelli, who died in 2019, the film includes a nude bedroom scene that showed Whiting's buttocks and Hussey's breasts. According to the suit, Zeffirelli told both actors at the time that "no nudity would be filmed" for Romeo and Juliet and they would instead wear "flesh-colored undergarments" for the scene.

My post had quotations because I was quoting a movie.
It’s from Blazing Saddles.
People suing Hollywood wanting to add to their retirement fund in later years.
They knew what they were getting into diving into the Hollywood circuit.....you can’t expect to jump into a cesspool and think you’ll come out clean and odorless.
“Ridiculous..........................”
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Ridiculous, yes, but if it helps to tear down Hollywood and forces them to clean up their movies, I’m all for it.
That was a body double. She did nude scenes in “Pretty Baby” when she was 12.
Ive been wondering about this as my outrage and offence has not waned!
That’s Hedley!
The director of the movie was a homo.
Still trying to process this having seen the movie when I was a teenager it was a school field trip to the movie theater with a parental consent letter sent out by the teacher.

“Based on William Shakespeare’s iconic play of the same name”
They REALLY had to spell that out??? Geesh.
The sixties was a time of “free love” and hippies, and protesting against war, and the left is the one who bought into that narrative whole-heartedly. Anyone who complained was called the “establishment” and “the man” much like the older generation is now called “boomers”. These are the people now suing for things they unabashedly participated in during those years. They are also now supporting wars overseas and the more the better!
Yep. The same suspension of statute of limitations that was used in the recent lawsuit against Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, accused of sexual assault of a 16-year old girl back in the 1970s.
There's going to be a blizzard of these cases.
Those were all pulled from the shelves after Lords turned 18 and came clean about her true age. She then made one more porn film as an adult which she controlled all the rights to and retired from the porn business comfortably wealthy.
I think the main reason was the Catholic priests who committed abuse...
Filmed in Italy. Should it not be an Italian problem and not a US problem?
It’s ridiculous. Only a few years ago she publicly defended the nude scene saying that it had been filmed very tastefully.
They’re just out for money, and that’s very disappointing - I always thought they were both dignified people, and the movie was beautiful.
