JUST IN - U.S. House has adjourned until noon tomorrow after three failed votes for Kevin McCarthy.
Does this not mean that if McCarthy were a Dem shill, that the Dem side of the House would have voted him in in a landslide?
I agree that McCarthy needed to be chastened, and that the process for removal of a non-performing SOTH needed to be strengthened, however now is the time to band our GOP together, and sail bravely into that forthcoming legislative storm.
Elect McCarthy, warts and all, just keep an eye on him.

Moving aside gives power to the dems. Is that what you want? No investigations into the corruption etc.? No legislation passed for the good of the country? This isn’t make believe - it’s for keeps and giving it to Jeffries....No matter what anyone thinks of McCarthy - letting the dems have control isn’t the answer!
A couple hours ago, Jordan stepped to the podium and said...IMOW...damn you scavengers...give my vote to McCarthy...I don’t want to be Speaker...I know the job I want and that’s where I intend to be.
All that has happened is the the votes against him have coalesced around 1 person instead of several different ones.
And dissenters went from 19 to 20 total votes.
So the non McCarthy folks gained 1 vote in 3 rounds.
Other than that they all just picked a common person to vote for.
You mean, who wants a party leader who can marshal the caucus and get things done, even with a tiny majority. Yeah, why would the GOP ever want that.

Glad someone else noticed. He could have walked away a hero if he “suggested” crimes the Dems are involved in like the Dems do to Republicans. We know Swalwell probably slept with Chinese intelligence. We know Schiff’s biggest donor has a thing for shooting up black male prostitutes until.they die. We know Paul Pelosi Jr grifts so hard he should be in jail.
Talk it up or no one knows.
Gaetz isn’t going to be Speaker, and he pulls very little weight.
But McCarthy as Speaker would be as bad as Boehner as Speaker.

With BiXen in the White Basement and Schumer and Ditch in the Senate, the House is not going to be doing any real legislative work except obstruction for the next two years.
