JUST IN - U.S. House has adjourned until noon tomorrow after three failed votes for Kevin McCarthy.
It appears that there is some confusion here.
Jordon goes from 6 votes, to 19 votes to 20.
He’s got a bit of momentum....
McC not taking it on the 1st round is weakened.
So, who is going to blink?
If he had any character, he’d step aside after being repudiated 3 times.
We’d better wrap this up soon.
GAGA McCarthy has cute too many deals to stand aside.
On the Dem side Pelosi would accept her unity victory and attend the funerals of the ones who had been dissidents against her while they were alive.

Nah, let it go on for a week or so. The Dems are probably freaking out about this more than the Republicans are. If we had a leader that was in their face every day talking about how corrupt the government is, we might actually survive with just a financial depression.
Frank Luntz roommate doesn’t get named Speaker of the House!
They started out with 19 and ended up with 20 voting for Jordan in the last round.
Hopefully they’ll go into conference before the restart at noon and get meaningful work done.
It wouldn’t bother me a bit if anyone at all other than McCarthy had the Speakership. The senate is nearly all UniParty so no conservative legislation would ever make it anyhow.
The only thing would be committees and unless good deals can be made tomorrow, nothing good would come out of them either.
Yeah, only 198 more votes and he’s in! That’s great momentum! /s
“They started out with 19 and ended up with 20 voting for Jordan in the last round.”
Jordon got 6 in the first round.
Proving he is not the right leader/man for this position.
A leader wanting to serve his fellow man would have stepped down after failing the first time and surely the second. But 3 votes he has failed and still hasn’t stepped down.
"In their last meeting with McCarthy, three Freedom Caucus members with whom I spoke said it was pretty ugly - certain members were trying to use their votes to blackmail McCarthy for committee or subcommittee chairmanships. Some wanted veto power over other members of committees, some wanted to control certain policy areas involving, for example, which legal cases the GOP majority should be involved in, and the list goes on. One of the original five, Good of Virginia, took $2 million from McCarthy's fund to get re-elected. Others among the 19 took huge sums as well."
These grifters are in it for themselves and you're all cheering them on.
Restoring the Republic? Not so much.
Good.
It’s time the real conservatives stood for something.
No more RINOs, snowflakes , or spineless weasels.
Nice historical post. Thanks.
