Cardiologist Explains How Damar Hamlin’s Cardiac Arrest May Have Happened
New York Post ^ | January 3, 2023 | Ryan Dunleavey

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin might have been a fraction of a second away from moving on to the next play. Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest Monday night when he collapsed on the field in Cincinnati, was administered CPR under life-or-death circumstances and hospitalized in critical condition after what one independent board-certified cardiologist saw as a collision at the time in the cardiac cycle when the heart is most vulnerable.

“That hit had to occur at a certain point in time that was only five milliseconds long,” said Dr. Marc Cohen, Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Newark-Beth Israel Medical Center. “If that hit occurred one millisecond after or before, this may not have happened.”

What looked like a routine (by NFL standards) tackle by Hamlin on Bengals receiver Tee Higgins resulted in Hamlin getting to his feet, adjusting his facemask and immediately falling onto his back as horrified players from both sides watched trainers, paramedics and doctors assist with his breathing and restore his heartbeat.

Again. Pericardial Tamponade requires a pre-condition of fluid.
This player was on the field. He wouldn't have made it through the warm up.
The man you tried to save would've known he had a problem before the fight. He wouldn't feel very good

Why myocarditis has been glommed onto as an excuse not to be vaccinated other than it sounds skeery and there’s not much else to complain about is anybody’s guess. The risk for myo is clearly much higher for those who catch Covid whether symptomatic or asymptomatic.

“We performed a meta-analysis with 17,704,413 subjects that included 627 confirmed myocarditis...The incidence of myocarditis was 0.0035%. Cases reported from Israel represented 45.14% from total (283 out of the 627). Only 1 case of fatal myocarditis or death was reported....”

US:
“ one study estimated that myocarditis affects about 40 people out of every 1,000,000 people who test positive for COVID-19... myocarditis is much more common in patients hospitalized for COVID-19 (226 per 100,000)....Myocarditis is a rare complication of COVID-19 vaccination. It affects fewer than 20 people per 1,000,000 COVID-19 vaccinations.”

UK study:
“...the European Medicines Agency (EMA) has reported 145 cases of myocarditis and 138 cases of pericarditis out of 177 million doses... and 9 cases of myocarditis and 19 cases of pericarditis out of 20 million doses.... In Israel, 275 cases of myocarditis were reported between December 2020 and May 2021 among more than 5 million people vaccinated ....Of the 38,615,491 vaccinated individuals included in our study... There were 114 deaths with myocarditis recorded on the death certificate as a cause of death (23 had a SARS-CoV-2 positive test). ...Of the 38,615,491 vaccinated individuals included in our study...188 (11.9%) had a SARS-CoV-2 positive test, with 154 (9.8%) of these being before vaccination. There were 31 deaths with pericarditis recorded on the death certificate as cause of death (6 had a SARS-CoV-2 positive test). ...

From the Netherlands “... 2.3% of the athletes were diagnosed with clinical or subclinical myocarditis after a recent infection [18]... In a systematic review of CMR imaging studies performed in athletes with a history of COVID-19, the proportion of athletes with a confirmed diagnosis of myocarditis varied between 0% and 15% [19]

From Israel: “...Over 9 million Israeli residents were included, of whom more than 5.4 million had received at least one dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine...Of the identified 136 cases, 129 (94.9%) had a mild disease course defined as a resolution of symptoms within days with normalisation of cardiac biomarkers and any abnormalities detected with ECG and echocardiography. In one case (0.7%), myocarditis was fulminant and led to death [6].

I don’t remember there being any games in 2021. Add into that the cumulative effect, and the latest boosters were very recently added.

Yes one random event that has never happened before or since. Even in fighter jets with incendiary rounds going into and through fuel tanks. It is the empty kerosene/diesel containers that are full of explosive gas..not gasoline.

Number of children under the age of 18 who died from Covid alone in the first year, was dozens. I will bet anyone here that the number who died from side effects from the shot is higher.

The mRNA treatment has never been tested properly. It is MURDER to test it on people who have to choose the shot, or be layed off or fired.

So I got wondering how many hard tackles have happened on a player's chest since the NFL was founded. Here are some stats I found plus some wild ass guesses I made:
StatisticValue
NFL teams32
NFL Founded year1920
Original teams14
Avg teams (1920-2022)23
Games per season17
Total games played39,882
Tackles per season per team700
Seasons102
Total tackles all seasons1,642,200
Tackles on chest20%
Total tackles on chest328,440
Practice, scrimmage, pre-season2X
Total tackles on chest656,880
Tackles during 5 ms window3,284

SOURCE: Tackles Per Season Per Team - StatMuse

So we've had over 3,000 blows to the chest in that 5 ms window that could have caused atrial fibrillation. If only 1% of those had caused a major event, we should have had 33 similar events on the field since 1920 due to such hits to the chest. And you could probably double that for exhibition games, practices, scrimmages, preseason games, etc. So we should have seen over 50 such events.

Yet we only have ONE?

Caveat --> My numbers are probably all wrong.

The sac which surrounds the heart Is Already filled with fluid.
That’s normal.

It when is becomes over filled is when the problem occurs.

No one can argue with the Cleveland Clinic when it comes to Cardiac issues.

I wouldn’t bet on vaccination related complications nor would I dismiss them, but aking a chest hit *can* do this and it kills motorcyclists every year - young and old alike. It’s one reason why I wear some sort of torso armor, chest and back protector, etc., when I ride. It is far from unheard of for a biker to get hit in the chest by something (often part of the bike or the car that hit them as they’re unwillingly getting launched) and while otherwise only getting survivable injuries, the hit triggers this cardiac problem. This was known before COVID-19.

The NFL unaccountably does not have chest protection, especially in an era where huge (compared to those in the past) players are deliberately using their shoulder pads offensively in torso strikes.

Another take...

Interpreting Damar Hamlin's Sudden Collapse Watching the tape, reviewing the epidemiology, and (most importantly) performing a thorough physical examination of his heart.

And note the bit about the NFL and the COVID-19 Community Corps.

On that, from 2021...

In Partnership with HHS & White House, Public Private Strategies Announced as Founding Member of COVID-19 Community Corps

Note to the players: Haven't you guys been wondering how much taxpayer money the NFL got in return for doing this to you?

"when is becomes over filled is when the problem occurs."
yes... when the heart is injured, infection or something.
Pericarditis (infection in the sac) symptoms is a shortness of breath, weakness and irregular heartbeat.

Re: "Google is easy, use it. Speculation does not help."

Cleveland Clinic - the #1 cardio-vascular clinic in the world - is better.

CC website states that victims of cardiac arrest lose consciousness almost immediately.

Unconscious persons with no pulse and no blood pressure do not have to be restrained from thrashing about.

And, I have never heard of treating post-cardiac arrest victims with deep sleep sedation and intubation.

And, the fact that the family and the NFL have released ZERO detailed information for 36 hours simply pours gasoline on the speculative fire.

Dr. McCullough makes a couple of interesting points if it's Commotio cordis.
1. the projectile hitting the chest needs to be traveling at 40 miles an hour if it's faster or slower the risk is significantly less. The hockey stick hitting the chest video I posted was traveling about that speed.
2. Damar Hamlin case would make it the first time this has happened in football. Making it highly unlikely it was Commotio cordis.

I find it odd Dr. McCullough didn't address the time delay (standing up) for the reaction. Given he would've been having the heart attack when he was hit.

NO! This is one of the fake results that REALLY pissed me off! After months of claiming that “No, you don’t get myo from the vaccine,” it shifted to, “OK, there are probably a few individuals who get myo, but you’re far more likely to get it from the virus” to “OK, the virus doesn’t cause myo but the vaccine does, but hey, what’s a little myo?”

Exhibit 1 is very powerful, and very true. Despite the source being a link and not an image, and the data at the source being uncompiled, I was able to confirm the data.

I think Exhibit 2 undermines your case. The latest spike seems to be an artifact of accounting for reporting lag; there is no corresponding spike AT LEAST IN COVID-19 RELATED DEATHS. Death rates FROM COVID went up from an average of around 300 per week in late spring to around 500 in early August, but this is no way near the peak of thousands per week in the winters of 2021 and 2022.

Yes, over filled, in trauma it’s always Blood.

The sac contains its own fluid.

A torn cardiac blood vessel (like from a blow to the chest) will leak into the sac, filling that sac more than the fluid, and to the point of emergency surgery to relieve the buildup. If the vessel is bleeding heavily into the sac, Cardiac Tamponade occurs.
Death will soon follow.

I post Cleveland Clinic (The World’s Finest Cardiac Hospital) and you quote one line from Wikipedia……..oooooook.

One thing I’ll say about you vaccine obsessed folks, you sure can’t admit when you’re wrong or admit people even died before the Covid vaccine.

Over on Twitter there’s a Tard Nugget that thinks MyoCarditis is a new condition that never existed before the Covid vax.

“Seizure-like activity, including abnormal/tonic movements of the body, extremities, and face and eyeball deviation, is a major sign/symptom of the “sudden” onset cardiac arrest, particularly ventricular fibrillation and tachycardia.”

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8502955/

Also, this young man is/was not breathing on his own, he is intubated (ie. on life support) and apparently they have been able to reduce his oxygen intake from 100% down to 50% due to some improvement. It is very possible that the CPR performed on the field caused some lung injuries or perhaps a broken rib or punctured lung. His Uncle says he has lung injury. So therefore he was/is intubated. I also ad that basically the young man died twice, once on field and once in hospital and had to be revived. So being in ICU and intubated with lung injury is not at all far fetched.
